FWIW, villain had QQ, and i was lucky to escape with chips. I feel like I lost about as little as I could lose in this spot.
Not to be results-oriented, but it was for this exact kind of situation that I played the hand as i did. Once he takes a second shot for all his chips on the turn, I think I'm beat 75% of the time. Even though pot odds dictate a call based on those odds, there's something to be said for avoiding getting knocked out when I can still at that point preserve a slightly below average stack. When he does check the turn, his range is wide enough that I have no problem pushing, and "Oh well" when I'm beat.
I'm kind of surprised that no one is with me even a little on this.
