Default Shot in the dark

I dont have a big BR dedicated strictly to poker, but id like to start one quick. Im young so money comes and goes, so would it really be nutty to take a shot at a 2-4NL game with 200 bucks? a few good wins could get me going, and 200 isnt gonna make or break me, but i dont feel like messin with the .25/.50 crowd, theyre crazy

It wouldn't be nutty at all, nobody has the patience to move up from small games that nobody takes seriously. Last year I had like $800 and some idiots tried to convince me I should play $1/2 limit holdem, but I started out at $15/30 and never looked back.

If you have only $200 I would suggest playing low stakes online and build slow, if you don't want to play online and just play live, I would recommend you to get a job, drop ur GF, save all ur dough, and then take a shot at a real game. GL.

Opening raises in a 2/4 game are usually between 12 and 20 bucks. Your not leaving yourself very much room to "play" with only 200. I'm not saying that you can't do it, its just that you could easily get blinded off waiting for a good hand and you won't have enough chips to scare anyone. A better (but still risky) approach would be to buy in full at 2 100NL tables.

Crazy, yes.

However, if you absolutely can't grind it out, do whatever the hell you want.

If you can't work yourself up within the constraints of a bankroll though, I doubt you really have the discipline to play well at these higher levels immediately. Playing good poker is typically a pretty disciplined endeavor. I doubt you will take the advice but I think you should work yourself up.

Playing 2/4 NL with a $200 bankroll would be nothing short of idiotic if you are playing seriously.

Unless you get really lucky you'll be broke so quickly, you won't even know where your money went to. $200 isn't even close to what you need to play .25/.5 NL. You might start with either 10NL or .25/.5 LHE if you know what you're doing.
