What happens in these challenges when you make it to the next level, but then drop to 15BB for the previous level? Keep going at the level you've made it to, or drop down?

[/ QUOTE ]

This was originally called the OIC (Open Internet Challenge), I think. Basically, the rules are:

* Full-ring games only
* You've got a 3-hour time limit to make it as far as you can
* You stay within one site
* No multi-tabling unless you're running more than one 15bb at a time
* You play until you make 15bb for the next level
* Don't take profits (e.g. if you have $27 playing .50/1 and you profit $13 from your last hand you start at 1/2 with $40 not $30)
* Leave on the hand you hit the next level on...don't wait for the blinds to hit you
* Keep going until your time is up or you bust out of the limit you start on (e.g. if you're on Stars and you start at .25/.50, don't drop down to .10/.20 if you get down to $3...just keep going at .25/.50 until you're out)

All these, of course, are up to the discretion of the player (if you're just doing it for yourself) or the person that posts the challenge (do a search for "15BB" and my username in the past 6 months...you'll see a few threads).

20 hands to bust out at .05/.10; is this a record?

Last hand was my QQ vs KK.

Edit: One alternative is to play at a limit until you've made enough profit to bankroll the next level; ie if you're starting at .02/.04 and intend to go to .05/.10 you put in .60 and play until you hit $2.10. That way if you bust you haven't lost anything (unless you bust at .02/.04).

Haha, best flop action ever. I love you, .02/.04, almost as much as you hate me.

Well, this is how far I got so far. Obviously I'm not following the 3-hour rule. 30/60 has been giving me some trouble early on, but I am going to continue in the morning. I want to make it to 50/100.

This is way more fun than playing poker normally.

So much for that one. Time to try again. People run really good at 30/60 against me.
