Default TPTK hit on turn, $100NL

Villain was 33/15/1.6(100)

I checked turn trying to get more value from Jx or maybe a floating, do you agree with that? Also, ez fold on the river, right??

Hero ($105.95)
UTG ($203.65)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $4, 1 fold, UTG calls $3.

Flop: ($9) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $6, UTG calls $6.

Turn: ($21) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $21, Hero calls $21.

I like check/calling the turn. Does he always bet this big?

Easy fold on the river imo.

Sure.

The board is very draw heavy that I don't really want any other cards to come out, not to mention that hitting top 2 could be the end to your stack.

I also run that play with air every once in a long while, which means I have to do it with a legit hand.

CRing might not always be the most profitable move in that particular situation, but you have to remember that in order to bluff, you have to be willing to do the same action with a real hand. This is your chance.

As soon as you check the turn his mentality is that you have missed. His low AF means I may call this against some. Some idiots with 88-JJ who were planning on milking by calling as they always do at 100nl, will also panic at the sight of the Q by betting strongly. Happens often at PP.

i dont think check/raising turn has any value, we'll get stacked out from sets and QJ most of the time when we get called

I do not see why we need to get more value from Jx here. We bet flop, and bet turn. I'm pretty sure people are having a hard time folding pair jacks just because flop turns a Queen, how do they know you have a queen. You're taking for granted that you know your hand. You could have KJ for all I know, just bet the turn and charge draws. One advantage of cbets is that when you hit on turn is that you can confuse your opponent, so take advantage.

As played, when you checked turn you're getting bet into from some trash hands, I personally if I have a read on you might do this with 89s/45s and try to pick up the pot right there. Might explain why he bet pot on turn when 3 came. Or he could just have QJ lol. River is strange in my opinion, it could be a follow up from the turn bluff with a flush draw or something because you are showing such weakness, you are really acting like a missed draw. His betting pot makes me uneasy. Looks like he's feigning strength. Lets switch roles here, would you bet pot with QJ or a set if villain played your lines. Don't think so. Therefore he's got 45 or air imo. Anyone disagree here?

master,
are you c/r-ing for value or bluffing? if its the former, why cant you call this river (if you intend on c/r-ing the turn)?
