Default NL100 - River decision

I'm on a computer without PT. No reads except he's a little loose preflop (I'd guess around 35ish vpip). Villain almost timed out on the turn decision. I'm not a big fan of the river card.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

SB ($134.60)
Hero ($191.55)
UTG ($44.45)
MP ($164.90)
CO ($88.45)
Button ($109.85)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. MP posts a blind of $1.50.
1 fold, MP (poster) checks, CO raises to $4, 1 fold, SB calls $3.50, Hero calls $3, MP folds.

Flop: ($13.50) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $9, CO folds, SB calls $9.

Turn: ($31.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $25, SB calls $25.

River: ($81.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero isn't sure what to do so he checks not because it's the right thing to do but because he's a wuss and he'll have to copy paste this one so he can post it and learn more better pokers from the crew.

Final Pot: $81.50

bet 1/2 pot. River card doesn't seem that scary given the flop call

i think checking here is fine. Not so much that villain often has you beat, rather that alot of missed draws and TP hands wont call you. IMO its not worth the risk.

This was the exact thoughts as another other option as I played the hand.

Any other thoughts on this one? I trying to work on not leaving money on the table.

I don't want to induce a bluff because I don't want to call when I'm behind I don't think. I'm not good enough to make those reads so I'm not going to actively try to put myself in that situation. I bet 1/2 pot for what it's worth, no way you have an eight so good pairs and two pairs call.
