Wow, now I understand what happened the other day. I had AA, managed to get it all in pre-flop with three other callers, one had KK, one had QQ, and one had QJ.

It must have been Ivey who had the KK since the board was KQ7K5 for quad kings!!

That's it, Ivey plays everywhere and gets all the luck involved in the World.

Do you understand that depending on the pot odds that calling with a set is warranted even if you KNOW the other person has a straight? This has nothing to do with luck.

I would bet that much of what you considered to be luck is actually nothing more than good poker.

Phil Ivey is super aggressive and play in so many pot that it's mathematically correct that he will hit more flops than other players. Just because TV doesn't show you all the hands he folded after he missed the flop doesn't mean they don't exist.

Like I said not taking away from his skill. Just showing he gets lucky too! It's not 100% skill.

Oh, thats something new in poker, that you need some luck in a game where you donīt have all information you need to win always.

I know this is just a few isolated hands but if you watch Ivy a lot you see this a lot.

A lot? All the time! The only incident where he suffered a bad beat on TV was in the WSOP '03 when Freddy Deeb drew out on him on the river.

Other than that I only see Ivey sucking out again and again and again. EPT, Million$Cashgame, PAD, you name it...
