I'm always betting this flop with your image and those stack sizes.....there's def an argument to check turn but it's very close imo, I'd fold river, I think he has a flush/set most of the time

As played I call turn, fold river. But I think I check the turn and get a bet in on the river. [/ QUOTE ] |

based on his reraise preflop, what is his range of holdings? If you know hes capable of reraising out of position preflop with hands like 76dd or JTs, i think you should reraise him preflop, and if he repushes you can safely fold. If you think his reraising range preflop in that spot is TT-AA, AK, AQ, AJ, i like the smooth call preflop. On the flop his check could mean a lot of things, but i think betting out would have gotten you a lot of information about his hand. On turn he checks again, and since you are still unsure about his holding and u have a draw to the nuts that you dont want to get raised off of, i like checking this turn, and then either checking the river down, value betting it if u make ur flush, or calling a bet from him if say the board pairs or a blank comes, as long as its pot size or less. Betting the turn should put you in a very tough spot, because you know he could be doing this with air, and now ur nut flush draw just got very expensive. I like the idea of keeping this pot as small as possible with ur one pair and not much info about his possible holdings.

I never really read/post on 2p2 but im trying to mentor a friend into playing poker so im looking for some intersting articles. jin if you played on PP i'd be inersted to know your name too. if you dont mind PM me just for curiousity. i really respect you game on ftp as well. i ususally never respond but fwiw here's my take. i'd cbet flop and if he c/c i'd check turn behind, assuming he checks. if he lead i'd call. the river decision would be v. tough. however the way it was played I think you have to call here sometimes. i think the only way to decide is the texture of the secession. vs a player like that w/ his stats i think he's capable of a lot there. i think the factor taht makes it a call is that he has you on AK at best. I think he assumes you'd bet the flop w/ top set. like you said, he has you on AK (diamond or no diamond) at best. the Q makes you effectively beat nothing so if he's making a play he knows you beat nothing on the river. i think its v. close but your getting 2:1 so i'd lean toward call. i have him on air or set and i think i lean toward making him show me a hand. results?

You appear to be playing scared this hand. If the villain picked up on it then your hand is very transparent. I am more in favor of folding river. It is close and depends. You have to bet this flop and not fear a raise.

how often do you see J9 here, or Q10 with the Q diamonds? I hate it but i think its a fold.
