yea, Nath is pissing me off right now in this thread because he is such a huge presence in BBV and basically said nothing to me about any of his concerns at any point (correct me if I'm wrong Nath) and didn't make his concerns vocal in the original threads at all. Which is surprising considering how strongly opinionated he is on just about everything.

Mod decisions aren't set in stone and if a lot of people had voiced concern early on (there were a few, like Nick B and Tuff Fish) and shown some proof like what you guys are showing now (instead of just "I have a bad feeling about this") then things might have been different.

[/ QUOTE ]Well you have to also consider that at the time, if someone came out and said they thought Vig was lying, pretty much everyone would jump on them/bitch at them/ect.

guys I didn't donate any monies and don't really get the whole story (is there a wife AND a gf?) but what made you guys think this money never got spent on the wife.

I mean including OP's inside info how is this scenario impossible:

- beginning bankroll 30k; 10k in stars 20k in ing
- get donations for cripple wife; 20k in stars 20k in ing
- lol fristaments, take 10k from ing to pay for cancers
- busto in stars

2. Nath, Unfortunately I think you are right that he planned on gambling the whole time. Mrs Vig stated that she originally didn't want to pursue bbv for charity but he pushed her into it. What is his motivation to push her to ask internet forum for funds.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow OK I didn't see this. Looks like premeditated scam to get bankroll monies then. I assume in his gambooling-addled brain he figured hed win a stack of monies and give MrsVig the original monies and keep the sweet, sweet profits.

Obv scam from the start.
I would've said something on the forums, but didn't wanna get called out for being insensitive the whole cancer/baby thing. I did mention it to some of my friends the instant i saw the donation thread/baby picture for vig (rofl that was icing on cake) The instant the "vote for baby vig" thread came up it should have been blatantly obvious to everyone that this was a scam.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah you're a dick and can go to hell for all I care - oh and you're probably lying

I also felt a little skeptical, enough to not donate but nowhere near enough to speak up. One problem was: Suppose you're in the same boat. You need funds for medical expenses for your mrs. Who do you ask - your family and friends? Or BBV?

[/ QUOTE ]

Odds are good that if you need to ask an internet message board for donations for a cause like this, you've already alienated/scammed your friends and family and can't go to them for help.

One day soon Vig will look back on this experience and realize that this is when he hit rock bottom.

Another thing blatantly obvious. He could have asked for checks to the hospital, to the research/care for Mrs. Vig's illness, and that would have been not only easier for him (no work), but tax deductible probably for some of you donating clowns. That would be under the pretense that his intentions were good, which obviously has been proven to not be the case.

Because then I get accused of being an insensitive [censored] to a "family" with the mother dying of cancer, and why would anyone believe me?

Most people consider this to be surprising someone really stealing/gambling $ intended for his girlfriend's illness.

However, I think/know it is standard. If you have ever been to a gambler's anonymous meeting, you would know that stealing a couple grand from your girlfriend dying of cancer isn't even close to as farfetched as you guys are making it out to be and i've heard infinitely times worse stories.

At least maybe BBV has learned its lesson though.

That explains why you didn't post in a thread, but not why you didn't PM a mod in private. Also that last part is really condescending - what are you our dad or something?
