Default nl25 aq flopped second pair

villain is 18/18/unlimited

my aggro on turn and river is only 2 and 1, i am trying to find out in which situations i should be raisin instead of calling. maybe this one of them?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($24.65)
SB ($9.75)
BB ($26.20)
UTG ($31.05)
MP ($23.25)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $1, 1 fold, Hero calls $1, 2 folds.

didn't raise cause original raiser was UTG

Flop: ($2.35) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets $1.75, Hero calls $1.75.

aggressive player good chance on cbet, so called bet, saw no point in raising

Turn: ($5.85) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.
should have betted here on the turn?

River: ($5.85) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets $3.5, Hero calls $3.50.
saw nothing that i beat that would have called a raise

Final Pot: $12.85

Looks ok to me.. sometimes guys check when they hit.. I just put notes on them if he did end up with the flush.

yeah thats ok... you could bet the turn representing the flush. If you get raised throw your hand away. If called, check down on river.

Ur whole play is really read dependant tho. If this was your first pot with the guy you played the hand fine. Make a note on how he played the hand and proceed with your read next time

Over how many hands? I might think about folding this river if villian didn't have an AF of INFINITY (or if you don't have enough hands on villian for AF to be significant)

I would note something like:
4xbb pfr utg ATo, c-bet 3/4 pot w gut hu, cks turn 3-flush ui, 3/5 psb on rvr ui

I end up with lots of notes I rarely read this way.

i like a 3bet pf here but i guess thats preference. Since you think its just a cbet then yea its fine to call but i fire after he checks on the turn. Against most TAGs the check on turn here is a sign of weakness so if i float i look to take it down here on turn.

I don't want to give simple rules of thumb but....

You have to include AQs in your button 3-bet range. You will get a lot of flops checked to you where you can simply bet and take it down. Even though this is a nitty villain he will put you on a much stronger hand. Don't call with AQ please. Raise or fold. Only way this is a calling hand for me is if villain is a 50/40/12 maniac where AQ is the nus against him.
