war most likely he folded his way to FT than made a shove with AQo lost to 74s calling his 3bb shove in the BB and than he made a post bitching about a bad beat. He got 6th and brags about how good he is. [/ QUOTE ] Yesterday sucked hardcore, I didn't wake up until like 11 PM, but still managed to make 3 Final Tables all with decent chips. Of course I get [censored] and finished 5, 7th and 7th. I should be running away with TLB right now but whatever. |

[ QUOTE ] THAY3R, how do you get the "extended summary statistics" in the db? Thanks [/ QUOTE ] I was wondering that, too. I use PDB and OPR and usually end up going with OPR since they show overall profit which PDB doesn't (for me anyway). But the down-side is OPR includes satellites and also MTT SNGs. [/ QUOTE ] ThePokerDB owns, pm Nat for more info (aka N82...something) |

If you look at HU play at the end of a sng, its pretty easy to see the difference between unexploitable and optimal play. Sklansky even went on a huge rampage one time because some cardplayer author recommended using unexploitable HU strategies when you don't have a read (which is terrible advice, since unexploitable is only best against perfect opponents, of which there are few) and claimed that Harrington had made a mistake. It was quite a thread; lots of sklansky smack talk.

NHFunkii, profiting small amounts by staying in an unexploitable shell into the late game is not enough to keep up with the rising blinds. [/ QUOTE ] umm, your unexploitable strategy changes as the blinds go up... it's not like unexploitable is defined as super tight |

You guys seem to think unexploitable means "Yea, but then I can exploit them by stealing their blinds all the time/run them over" which is a tad funny.

I was wrong in the post I wrote and I don't know why I wrote it because I knew I was wrong as soon as I took a piss afterwards.
FWIW, I think it's going to become much much more important to become unexploitable in the future when poker gets tougher, and I agree that probably my lack of results in tournaments is from me being to stubborn to convert to David Sklansky optimal [censored] play. But I do understand what it means and what the difference is. Just remember that Shania understands it too, so if you're going to be optimally, know your opponents, etc. |

aejones, Please teach me how to improve my MTT game. [/ QUOTE ] I know you're being sarcastic. I may or may not be able to help you. If you talked poker with me, talked about posflop situations maybe early, then maybe I could help you. Talking poker with me is +EV. Even when I'm wrong, I give tidbits of right information or get people's wheels spinning. Thayer, just look at your pokerdb? I haven't looked at it, but I get this crazy feeling (I have a 6th sense, obv) that you're betting than -19k? Eh? That true? |

I said something along the lines of playing unexploitably makes you miss tons of spots where you should be stealing people's blinds all the time/running them over... |
