Juan Dixon scored 12 points in 15 minutes last night (4-8 FG). Over 48 minutes, that's 38.4 points. He also contributed 0 assists, 2 TO's, and a BLOCK

This is like saying "so and so went 6-13 in pinch hit plate appearances over the last two weeks, so he is a .462 hitter." Wrong. Your thought process is flawed.

Except your example is taking about 1/50th of a season and projecting it to a full season, while the Dixon example was tkaing about 1/3rd of a game and projecting it to an entire game. A better example would be a guy hitting .462 over 50-55 games.

I like Okur a lot, but Brand is an absolute beast. This isn't the first time he's gotten jobbed in the all-star game.

[/ QUOTE ]

Both Brand and Randolph got jobbed, at least Brand does one thing better than the other two which is block shots, but Zach is the only 24-10 guy in the league and no way should Okur be ahead of him.

He's basically carried Portland many times this year and has done everything he's been asked.

Yeah - I think 2004 was a notable Brand omission (where Kirileinko and Peja were selected as reserves - Brand was, among Western Conf. forwards that season to the All-Star break - 3rd TR, 1st OffR, 2nd PER, 2nd assists, 4th blocked shots, 4th scoring).

But I'm just glad he gets to rest up this year - although my sense from reading his quotes on it, he's pissed. This is a guy who *should* be in the All-Star game and not just his stats alone - a great ambassador for the game (the dude has a blog!), well-spoken, plays the game the right way.

[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Brand - he's a guy you really feel good rooting for.

I think he's better than howard and close with arenas.

Either way, definitely top 15.

Also...Steve Blake >>> Juan Dixon.

[/ QUOTE ]

No one is picking Brand over Howard in a redraft. Brand is in his 8th season and at his peak, Howard is under 22, a current 17/12 guy with no offensive game and all the potential in the world
