You claim to have made 5 million, are filled with indecidision over whether to quit your day job, and berate others for being skeptical?

lapoker,

read my initial post. it was anything but hostile (the word he used to describe FSU's comments) or patronizing (as Yeti has stated).

As FSU stated, the only reason the kid wasnt laughed off the site is because he presented himself well, and others feel that he is a good player.

It is not possible for me to be jealous of someone claiming that winrate, because its impossible. The winrate he is claiming is 3 times what the better posters on here feel is the higher end of the possible winrates.

He made a statement, and some people challenged him on it because it was completely ridiculous.

Now, he is going to quit. Booo [censored] Hooo.

I'm pretty sure I never posted anything like that although I was and am impressed by Kane's results and ability. There's no conflict between that and finding this display childish.

I have no idea who the better player is between these two; frankly, it doesn't matter. I know samoleus' post was thought-provoking and Kane's posts in these two threads are a pathetic ego exercise. But I have no grounds to expect Kane or any other good player to post something useful to me. I don't post anything useful to them.

The vast majority of winning players here are TAG or close to it. Nobody here has ever experimented with Sam's style over a reasonable sample size. Now someone comes and says "hey, look, I play different than you guys, and look how it worked out" and you blindly rip on him without giving the slightest consideration that he may be on to something.

This forum could use a different perspective, and you just chased it away.

Go back and read your own posts. You sound like a jealous little kid. Maybe he's just better than you. Maybe you aren't the post profitable NL player in the world.

But maybe you are right. Maybe he's full of [censored]. At least give him that slight chance to prove himself. Think of it as a freeroll to tripling your winrate. Only an idiot would turn that down.

With respect,

Dustin

Edit: Afterthought. You used to post strong content. Now it's all quips and other offtopic nonsense. What happened to those days? I expect that I speak for the forum when I say that we miss your thought provoking posts.

What turnip said.

You have a very interesting perspective on strategy and definitely have something to contribute and personally you've always been civil at the tables which is a bit of a rarity. And while many questioned your winnnings (including myself), most of the serious posters that are 10/20 regulars went out of their way not to call you a liar, simply that they hadn't seen evidence that you played enough at the Party 10/20 under Punketty/Samoleous to equal the appromately 1+ mil that was assumed based on other statements like playing predominately Party 10/20, mostly online cash games, etc. Obviously if all your tournament winnings came in last 9 months, you use other screennames playing different styles, there were substantial live winnings, most came in first 2 months of 10/20 opening, etc, that would doubtless alter people's comments. Of course it would alter their other advice as well.

Additionally on winrate, there are moderately sophticated tools for datamining online poker, Party especially so if nothing else you've learned something else about your opposition from your time spent on this.

He can not be surprised if posters don't simply ignore an obvious lie and continue to treat him with respect and answer politely to his questions
