Ha - a very tough opponent indeed! Do you still play on Party? Care to share your screen name?

Clint, I sincerely appreciate your sticking up for me. The comments that you made about my talent and aptitude mean a lot - coming from a player of your skill. I don't know if I ever told you this, but I told John the lawyer some time back that you are the best player I have played with at Foxwoods.

Anyway, I wish I had not revealed my winnings. I guess I knew it would be met with this kind of response. The unfortunate fact is that it is diluting this post from the things that I really had wanted to talk about.

Anyway, do you think winning 2200 per hour while four tabling with fishies at 10-20 is that much of a stretch? If you think that is reasonable for me, consider about 25+ hours per week for about 2.8 years. It adds up.

fsuplayer, why do you continue your hostile attitude towards me? i thought that (a) we were friends from playing together and (b) that you - having had a decent sample with me - would have recognized my win rate.

regardless, that is not the point. if you read my post, i never mentioned the amount of my winnings. it was only when kkf responded with a condescending, patronizing e-mail giving me tips on how I can learn to be a winning player, that I was spurred to reveal my winnings. In retrospect, I wish I had not done that - as it has totally deflected the style/professional decision issues that I had hoped to talk about. If had intended to brag about my winnings, do you not think I would have included it in my initial post?

I have to say, I expected a lot of donkeys on here to respond the way that they have with useless posts doing nothing but attack me/call me a liar. But given (a) your aptitude for the game and (b) your reasonably-sized sample set playing with me, I am disappointed.

Res,

this is an absolutely awesome post. This is precisely the kind of advice that I was looking for. I sincerely appreciate it. I have not only read it, I have reread it twice and have printed a copy for reference. Thank you.

Guys, thanks for the tips - I don't intend to screw with the government. The risk is not worth the reward: I have paid and will pay my taxes in full.

Neo, I have a job in an academic environment and have only worked about 25-30 hours per week for the past 2+ years. My poker time has been 6-9 in the morning and about 3-6:30 in the evening.

Diablo, UB was never my primary account, so I did not play there much even before I was a Party regular (gaming club was my primary). That being said, my screen name was treblah. You are awkshand, correct? I do not remember playing much with you - but I remember losing a massive (about 18K if I remember right) to you a couple of years ago when we got it all in on the flop of 7s-5s-2x. I had 8s-6s and you had 7-7. Remember that?

Anyway, would appreciate any comments/advice you have for me.

Thanks!

I thought KKF's long 'patronising' post was the best in the thread, and a pretty honest description of stuff from the summer.

According to the other posters you are now a much better player. Congrats, and I do think you are a nice guy.
