[ QUOTE ]
i have a friend who is starting NL25, he is a very solid player starting an online bankroll. should he play on FTP or stars to maximize his profit? Assume he will have rakeback at FTP

thanks

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd say Stars is more loose/passive. If he's really looking to improve his game, FT will give him a better challenge since the games are more aggro. Rake+bonus is prolly in the neighborhood of 2-3PTBB/100 at FT.

Congratulations sir winalot!

I had a party too today, at least I moved to party poker, started a bit at 25nl, not as much fish as I expected though, but ah well the bonus is good .

party has enough finish kabouter!

To the guy starting off @ NL 25. I would say he should give FTP a shot if he is solid. More interesting hands there. Haven't played too much NL 25 on stars, maybe 300 hands or so.

I don't understand how you could fold that flop. Could be a semi-bluff, jacks, possibly queens or a bare ten. You'd need a strong read in that spot to fold imo.

Yeah, i am a proud citizen of nitville, but I cannot find a fold on the flop. Maybe it is just me, but that is where people love to make their bluffs because they are cheap.

What I find interesting is how far do people go unimproved on this hand? I usually will call a reasonable turn bet. The nice thing is that the majority of people will not just accept value betting you to death. If they have you beat, they will let you know.

What the eff UB? Can I ever win a pot all-in preflop?

Hand 1: Obviously not standard, villain had just given away 3 buy-ins tilting hard.

Hand 2: OMFG RIGGED!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

fwiw - I fold that JJ there. At best you're flipping and a lot of people like to 4bet shove AA repping AK. That's unfortunate though.

Oh yeah, I definitely fold this to any sane opponent. However against a guy who 3 hands ago called a raise with 63o and open shoved a KT3 flop, I'm never folding.

Do you push JJ preflop by standard? I may consider pushing queens against certain opponents, I dunno jacks only if I have a specific read on villain (like tilt or a very loose pushing range pf). I fold to the push.
The first hand is hardly rigged. What were you expecting?

Second hand is unlucky, but happens. The fact that you are still up 70$ should motivate you though. When I win a lot of big pots by pushing big pairs preflop I am happy about my winrate, but I think it leads me to overestimate how well I am playing on the day.
