During the server restart I'm reviewing all the hands in notepad.. How's the hand-reading below? +eq or spew? I thought this was an interesting one, and I could really use some perspective on the villain's range.
I don't remember anything remarkable about him, so call him an average $22 player. Preflop: I don't raise because it'd require 1/4 of my stack and I don't think he was open completing all the time, either. Flop: After he checks I pot trying to take it down immediately. To me his check-minraise shows either a monster (QQ+, all hands he might complete with) or he recognized that because he showed weakness checking in position my bet could be a stab, and he's trying to resteal recognizing that QQ+ would occur to me and I'm short-stacked. I'm thinking he might open complete and check-minraise with Kx, Qx, JJ+. On the other hand JT, any ace, two clubs, and low pairs all seem unlikely for a ocomp-chk-mr. I call ready to reevaluate on the turn. Turn: If he really held a K I'd expect him to either check the scare card or bet stronger--400 just didn't feel right for a king, FWIW, and Kx is a bit less likely with the paired board. I push with the idea of folding out AA, QT, QJ, and single clubs higher than my 9c. Thanks for your help. I don't like this hand at all.
Preflop: Standard. Flop: Yea, bet once he checks to you. But, I'd fold the his c/r. You only have MP with a weak kicker. What do you think he's doing this with? A flush draw or straight draw? Turn: Ok, if he was on a draw, the flush draw just got there. Sure it's a small bet, this guy obviously doesn't have much of a clue. But, he shown enough interest in this hand for me to not like Q9 very well at all. |

What DevinLake said.
Also, I'm kinda impressed with the amount of thought you put into a Q9 hand. I think it may be over-thinking in this particular case....but if you're applying the same level of thought to a lot of your hands you could be dangerous. |

i don't see any value in betting the flop here [/ QUOTE ] I don't mind it much. I think pot-betting may be a bit much....I prefer 250-300 here. If you can get away from this hand if villian calls or raises then I think betting here is +EV. |
