Are we all in agreement that this has been by far the worst season of HSP so far. The players are horrible (Gold, Ramdin, Chen are retarded). The action is super passive. I hope ABA makes this game a lot more interesting. I think Sammy needs to come back as well. [/ QUOTE ] Don't you think it's kinda early to judge the entire season? We've only see 25% of it, and it was clear that what we saw was the weakest table of the season. The producers probably made a good decision to save the awesome table for the end of the season. |

IT IS INCREDIBLY STANDARD FOR SOMEONE CAUGHT BLUFFING TO GO AHEAD AND INDICATE HE WAS BLUFFING AND THE OTHER PLAYER TO SHOW HIS HAND TO TAKE THE POT. ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS BEING RIDICULOUS. [/ QUOTE ] It really can't be said any more clear than this. I can't even believe some people on here still think that Gold is out of line by admitting he was bluffing and wanting to muck his hand. I think some of you guys need to get out of your mom's basement and go to a live casino every once in a while before you try to comment on proper etiquette and behavior. |

People draw way too many assumptions from seeing a tiny sample of hands played by an individual. Whoever is running good looks like a genius, whoever might be having one bad day or session looks like a hack. I mean we can all tell Gold is a hack, but I've heard harsh criticisms of Alaei, Ramdin, Negreanu that are really based in the short run.
I have enjoyed the season, the poker isn't the greatest, but it is still the best poker show. Also, the cocktail waitress they've featured this season is HAWWWWTTTT |

I'm pretty sure that when somebody bluffs and gets called, he can wait until the other player shows his hand before mucking, Gold did nothing wrong there.
He is however, just awful. He bluffs EVERY single hand like clockwork. And he slowplays all his real hands, it's so funny. I can't wait until he gets busted. |

Right. It's only out of line if a player misrepresents his hand in order to induce his opponent to show a loser. If you say "I was bluffing," your opponent turns over AJ-high, and then you table the nuts, you're a jackass angle shooter and probably get your butt kicked right then and there. Jamie was not out of line by telling Doyle he was bluffing and then folding his hand.
That being said, I wish players would just table their damn hands when it's their turn to do so. In the highest stakes games, I can see why people don't want to give away information when they don't have to. The problem comes when people playing 1/2NL start emulating that behavior because the etiquette is different at lower stakes. 30-second HSP staredown showdowns suck when all you want is to get another hand of 1/2NL going. |

Noone said he made any mistakes. He's just boring. This is TV, I want something interesting. The first two seasons had some interesting players. Right now, especially the last couple of episodes, I've been bored. The game plays like a 25 NL table. 5 people limp half the hands.

[/ QUOTE ] Makes me wonder if they purposely set up a weaker table so that Gabe could play and hopefully not get crushed. But I do agree with saving the better table for the end. |
