Default info on new poker site

Hey guys, a few months ago I posted up a topic about what you would like to see in a new online site. Well, the site has been completed and is live as we speak. It is called therivercard.com
Many of the previous suggestions could not be met as we are a skin on the Tribeca network (Doyle’s, VC, Paddy) however we have accommodated some interesting new ideas into the website and our live tournaments.

The previous post can be found here. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...8003&page=

In June we will be hosting a series of live tournaments in Manchester United’s stadium, the tournament room will be overlooking the pitch. The main event could well be the biggest tournament ever outside of the states as we can fit 700 players into the lounge, we are guarantying a million dollars with the possibility of up to $3.5m. We are putting everything we can into this tournament to make the whole week an awesome experience for poker players. Here is a run down of what we will be holding (everything listed is included in our online package)

£3000 NL Holdem (3 day event) 1 million guaranteed
£750 PL S.H.O.E. (2 day event)
£300 NL Holdem (2 day event)
£300 PL Omaha (2 day event)
£300 Limit Holdem (1 day event)
7 Nights in a Manchester Hotel for 2
Gala Dinner for 2
ZERO RAKE CASH GAMES
A tour of the Manchester United Stadium
Other tournaments in backgammon, chess, etc
Free daily buffets
£300 for expenses

Qualifiers are running daily on therivercard and in a few weeks they will be available on the whole Tribeca network. Sit and Goes will also be available for direct qualification to each event.

We are in the process of creating a chill out room where every poker players needs will be catered for, except porn! All the usual stuff will be there like forums, live chat, players pages, tournie reports etc plus many of the more interesting parts of other sites brought together. These include video clips, games, radio, music downloads, Pro player’s blogs and any other suggested material we can get.

As for the poker site we have a lot of influence over new satellites and games which could be added to the network. As far as I know this is the only network which offers Badugi.

Please don’t treat this post as spam. I just want to let you guys know about what’s available, and also let you have some influence over what we do next.

Thanks, Ray.

is it just me or is therivercard a really bad name for a poker site what with the poker is rigged crowd? But still good luck, more competition can only be a good thing for players.

Hi Ray,

Good luck with this venture. One thing.

Are you going to be running satelites individually for the smaller events. If not can we buy-in direct? I would make the trip up for this if I could.

One last thing.

Speak to a TV channel and get the final table televised.

Then convince someone to have the final table out in the centre circle. This is guaranteed free advertising in every national newspaper the next day.

We are running one big sat every Sunday at 10pm $500+40 with qualifiers running every day. In two weeks there will be sit and goes for each event individually. As an example an entry to one of the 300 pound tournaments can be won in a 9 player $60+6 sng. If you enter any of the tournaments you will be eligible for the free cash games that are running all week.

Direct buy ins will be available on our home page from the middle of March.

A final table on the pitch would be fantastic but so far we have not been able to negotiate this, we will keep trying.

Also we are looking for dealers in the Manchester area so if you’re not up for playing you can earn some cash and become one of the staff.

Thanks guys, Ray.

It will be televised. We are planning on showing a lot of the tournament up until the final table. This is what the players and viewers want.

We will be trying to get the S.H.O.E. event put out in a separate show as well.

Also we have no problems with logos from other sites being shown in our tournament. Ray.
