Mint Julep : fresh mint, muddled with sugar, bourbon, crushed ice

Sidecar : 1 brandy : 1 countreau : 1 lemon juice

Old Fashioned : rye or whisky, bitters, sugar, orange

(I know, sort of more than 2)

The problem with these 3 drinks is that they're great when done well, but they taste like ass at a typical bar which is staffed by morons.

Oh yeah, again :

Caipirinha : Cachaca, simple syrup (sugar water), lime

Delicious, but hard to find places with cachaca, people substitute rum and it's no good. Used to have tons of these at "Coffee Shop" NY.

2 drinks that I like that definitely aren't for everyone, but if you're looking for something different, might be up your alley :

Jack Daniels (or your fav whiskey) and Red Bull - It sounds like a very odd combo, and it is, however I love it. I like whiskey and I'm a Red Bull fan. This drink will get your buzz in from the whiskey but keep you awake and wanting to be the life of the party.

Caipirinha - It's a Brazilian drink that consists of Cachaça (alcohol made of sugar cane) and is created by taking fresh limes, throwing them in a glass, crushing them up a little for the juice (you can cheat by just using lime juice but takes away from the fun of the drink) and then adding sugar and ice. It's a little strong at first, but you warm up to it quickly. It's the official cocktail of Brazil.

EDITED TO ADD :

Damn you, I see you beat me to it!

BTW, while Cachaça can be hard to find (any somewhat big specialty liquor store should carry it), it's quite cheap.

Thats the only way I've had it so far and I really like it. The bottle was an x-mas gift and I haven't really ever experienced any other cocktails involving it.
