Since Neteller is asking OP to give a money order, why don't they do the same for all of us requesting a cashout? Come on Neteller, start cutting us money orders!

[/ QUOTE ]

ummm........exactly. So they can accept money coming in but they can't possibly send money out? That's horrible. It is also completely sickening how much money they've made in transfer fees the last couple of days. They have managed to completely trash their reputation in less than 2 weeks. Nice work Neteller.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL, what reputation? I tried to keep my Neteller balance at a minimum long before this fiasco.

Everytime someone asked on this board "Should I keep $20k in my Neteller account?", 90% of the responses were "Yeah they are reputable blah blah". Everytime I would warn OP of the risk involved, knowing that he would probably scoff at the advice "What is wrong with this guy?".

tell them that "you are extreamly limited in your abillity to transfer money for technical/legal reasons but that it is your highest priority to find a solution to this issue. You expact to have the payment completed in 6 to 8 weeks"

haha... people posting here are liars. They know damn well that they wouldn't pay Neteller back... haha. Get off your high horses already.

Shhh.... the Zoo Keeper doesn't like your attitude. Then again, the Zoo Keeper didn't like fleece_me's post either.

But you know what? I, for one, would like to thank fleece_me for the early warning, even though it was already too late to get my money out.

What possible reason would we have to lie? To look better on an anonymous message board? WTF.

You're a moron.

I can see how someone without enough integrity to realise that this is stealing, or that stealing is wrong, would project a similiar attitude on everyone else. If you don't have personal integrity how could you comprehend the actions of those who do?

the right thing to do here is to pay one of your friends who is bieng screwed by neteller, and notify neteller. From the tone of the OP, I doubt that will happen, but that seems like the clear path to me.

You should e-mail them back and tell them that you will gladly pay them as soon as they process all pending EFTs and checks to American customers.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the winner.

It's not stealing to expect Neteller to send money orders to customers if they expect customers to send money orders.

Thoughts, yes I have some. As this is my second post
on 2+2, after several years of being a member, that
thought is why would you not want to pay someone you
owe money to? Your character is on the line, a gambler
only has his integrity...pay the money, you will feel
good about doing it.

your expectations from neteller have very little to do with whether or not you are just using this as an excuse to not pay. The fact is, that the OP has the ability to help out one of his friends who is stuck with this neteller problem, or if he is lacking friends in this situation, one of the many 2+2rs he interacts with, but is choosing to rip off neteller instead.

do I think that neteller is handling this properly? of course I don't. The most obvious thing they are doing is not being honest about what is going on. I believe the odds of neteller paying us our money (eventually) is reasonably high, and in the meantime they are handling it very poorly. at the very least, they are raking in on the p2p transfers that people are using to clear thier money off of neteller. I personally have 1700 in EFT limbo, and haven't decided whether or not i'm going to p2p it our or not. If I do, Neteller will recieve continuing requests for a refund for the 2% fee until I get it back, or they go out of business.

If I was in the OP's shoes I'd reimburse a friend with money in eft limbo and alert neteller that i've paid them back, and to correct that friend's account. If I had no friend in that situation, i'd consider helping out a 2+2er, probably someone with a high post count with about the perfect balance in limbo. If I felt that was a stretch, I'd send neteller thier money, via money order, minus a handling fee, of around 4%. (akin to what neteller is getting for p2p [censored]) I'd alert them in advance that was my plan, and if they weren't amenable to it, I'd advise them to handle thier problem with my bank, as I had made an attempt to settle with them that was superior to how they are handling thier similiar situation with thousands of others.

taking 4% for the trouble of processing and sending a money order seems fair, even more fair in light of neteller not having waived p2p fees during this silliness. not paying neteller money that is clearly owed is not justified by this situation, that's just someone making an excuse to steal money. If I was not comfortable helping out someone who is currently screwed by neteller, i might consider waiting to pay NT back until they are clearly paying thier US customers, but even that seems a little bit shady to me.
