Well your post was very unclear and full of spelling errors. It was hard to make much sense of it.

Well your post was very unclear and full of spelling errors. It was hard to make much sense of it. [/ QUOTE ] So you're one of those guys who, when you're proven to be talking out of your anal cavity, resorts to inane nitpicking. I think its pretty clear that you knew what you were trying to say and were just too dense to get the actual point. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I just feel lucky that I'm getting to watch one the best linebackers ever (Urlacher), one of the best RBs ever (LT) and one of the best QBs ever (Manning). It's all good. [/ QUOTE ] LOL @ putting Urlacher and LT in the same sentence as Manning. Urlacher is the king of the tackle for an 8 yard gain, and LT's backup has outperformed him the last 3 years. [/ QUOTE ] dude, do you ever make a rational thought? LT's a top 10 RB of all time already and on pace for top 3-5.... [/ QUOTE ] You think before the end of his career, LT's place in history will be ahead any of these guys? Barry Sanders Jim Brown Walter Payton Emmitt Smith Eric Dickerson O.J. Simpson Marshall Faulk Thurman Thomas [/ QUOTE ] Yes, on Faulk, Dickerson and Thomas. But even if not, he will still be in the top 10, which will make him one of the best RBs ever. BTW, I never saw Brown. Saw some of OJ, but saw all the others in their prime. Payton and Sanders are a notch above the rest IMO (as i said, never saw Brown except for old footage). |

[/ QUOTE ] I also have never seen Brown, but from what I've seen of him, he was almost unstopable. As I understand it he left the game early to move on to other career options, but if he'd stayed I think it's widely agreed that he'd have been the best for many years. Cody |

[ QUOTE ]
I think it's very surprising to see Dan Marino of all people glorify Brady solely because of his Super Bowl rings. After reading the Patriots rant thread I think it is very surprising to see Brady even mentioned in the same breath as Peyton Manning when talking about all time greats. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't have the patience to read more then a few pages in this thread so this might be said already but ... To get somewhere you need to define what makes a quarterback great. Is it just the stats? Leadership? The ability to win big games? Comebacks? A combination thereof? If you choose to look at stats only, you have to put Marino on top and you have to see Manning as a future number one. (Joe Montana would probably not make the top 50) If instead, you look at the ability to lead the team and win big games (an often used criteria), neither Marino nor Manning would be even close to the top of the list. Instead you would have Montana as number one all-time and Brady right now. If you choose other factors, you could come to totally different conclusions. The only certain thing: This discussion won't get anywhere without a definition of greatness. /Spaderess |
