I just want to point out that Doyle is the ultimate poker player. He's rich, famous, solid, funny, and happy. I just love watching him sit there with all that cash, making little speeches like the one he fed to Gold.
Also, people really need to give Gold credit for playing in the game. He's not obligated to do it. He knows all those guys are awesome. If some of the nits on this board had won the WSOP they'd be making posts like "okay, they want me on HSP but I don't want to go on with 100% of my own action. Who wants a piece of my action so I can reduce variance?" Gold went ahead and ponied up and is playing his game. |

i really admire him for putting up 1.6% of his winnings in the wsopme for the chance to play this game and get 10 hours of tv time.

Gold seems to bring out retarded people who hate him, and retarded people that love him. Oh, and Doyle is awesome. |

[ QUOTE ] Alaei is worse than a 4 to 1 dog to hit his straight on the turn. He knows that Bill Chen is a very good player, and will not pay him off at all if he hits his straight. Betting out or check raising could be good options, but I think Daniels decision shows his respect for Chen's play. [/ QUOTE ] well then he shouldn't be calling PF in the first place [/ QUOTE ] Not really. I think chen's table talk during the hand really scared him. I mean small PFR, and 1/2 pot lead into several players followed by a calm and friendly chatter. Fish tend to do this with AA/nuts when they want a call. |

Chen's table talk won him that pot- there is no question about it.

How do you know he wasn't backed? [/ QUOTE ] Because with his reputation and talent, I don't think there is a stupid enough millionaire to do it. |

Anyone else notice Jamie Gold wearing his 2006 bracelet? It's on his left wrist. I'm sure everyone at the table was really impressed. Nice move for the "Earl of Douchebaggery". [/ QUOTE ] Many things could be argued about JG, but this one is not one of them. I'm pretty sure the producers asked him to wear it. |

Everything you say is true, but why not just call the 15k? There's already at least 42k in there. Why just give it up? [/ QUOTE ] Calling the 15k is the same as going all-in, you can't call and then muck, so you'd be commited for the rest. |
