i understand what shaniac is saying, but is it really horrible to be excited about things like this? is it some mortal sin to be happy for a friend? i mean, i dont see a point in playing poker if we are going to be indifferent about every time we succeed, the reason we, or at least i play poker is, aside from just money, it is exciting, occasionally you do get to do something for which you can be proud, whether it be in cash or mtt, there i don't get why anyone would play if they were going to be totally indifferent about everything and just do it for money

Also, your reading comprehension vis-a-vis assigning pronouns in context needs a lot of work.

Talking to me? I can't imagine who else you would be talking to, so I'm asking. Bah, when I type quickly without caps I'm usually just rambling. I promise you that if I want to put out a finish product and not a rough draft, I can type with correct pronoun usage. I'm not quite an English major, but I do write very well.

Yeah, all that's well and good, but it's somewhat illogical to act indignant when someone like Haralabos makes a comment that you don't like. If you're so happy for gobboboy, that should be enough to let you ignore the reaction. Gobboboy talked, or implied, plenty about his opponents and how much better than them he was, so it's a matter of dishing it and being able to take it, too.

QFT. Seriously guys, can't we just congratulate Gobbo on a great showing in an incredibly challenging event and get on with our lives? Argueing ethics and comparing e-penis sizes aren't going to get you anywhere.

If I had the mental and emotional stability of you or Adanthar I think I'd be a millionaire like gobbo by now.

fyp

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol. This is the type of crap I find hilarious coming from people clamoring for more class in the poker world.

[/ QUOTE ]

I dont see anything wrong with that fyp, why are you so [censored] negative all the time?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, it's pointing out how much money someone has which is classless.

[/ QUOTE ]

I never said anything along the lines of class in the poker world, but class of a person in general. And yeah, I did point out how much money gobbo won in a Gobboboy Aussie Millions FT Sweat thread? It's not like I will be saying this for the next 6 months repeatedly, man. I am not a random troll just jumping on a bandwagon. Like Yuv pointed out, I am very good friends with gobbo. Making unnesessary fyp's on a poker forum supporting gobbo including the amount of $$ he won in this tournament is hardly classes as an interview done online where you verbally look down upon someone.

Well, you make some good points, but the above quote is where I disagree--it's all basically part of the same game.

Anyway, since the tournament is over and just about everything has been said, I don't suppose I need to be checking this thread too much, anynmore.

Congrats, Gobbo, well done. I'm jealous.

Gobbo may have spoken confidently in his abilities against his opponents in an interview talking about poker. But haraloubos looked down upon gobbo on more of a personal level. It just seems a little unfair to take these comments as equally insulting in the context of the statements.

yes, and i wouldn't have really minded if he just said gobbo is bad at poker and was a total luckbox to get as far as he did, but it seems so underhanded to sit there making personal insults, especially since i talked to gobbo about it and he said haralabos was pretty nice at the table, seems really immature to just make personal attacks on someone, i realize my post about him saying gobbo sucked out when he haralabos misscounted outs was excessive, i just felt like this guy was really being a dick for no reason and the fact that he would missreport a hand to make it sound like gobbo had made some horrid play also adds to the annoyance at someone acting like this
