SHIP IT!

Is there anything else better than telling your whiny coworkers/friends/planemates on the way home that you won when they ask how you did?

Great report, btw.

part 22

highlights of the trip home

in line for a cab to the airport, another guy is going to mccarren, so we share a cab....awesome.

there is a huge backup on koval i think, with everyone trying to turn left to get to the airport. our cabbie gets into the middle lane, floors it through a couple of lights, makes a u-turn, and gets us on the road to the airport in like 1/5th of the time. sweet, you just earned yourself an extry 5 buddy.

i get some sleeping meds at the airport b/c that's the only way i can sleep on the plane, and i HAVE to get some sleep if i'm gonna work on monday. i check in to my seat and decide to change seats for some reason. originally, i'm gonna get a window, but none are available, so i just move closer to the front.

blah blah....get on the plane and this hot chick is in the window on my row. the luck just keeps on coming. she's probably an 89 in currrent state but could probably transform into a 99 if she was all done up and going out.

i talk to her a bit, and it turns out that in the really full plane, the middle seat of our row is like the only empty seat. so a. i get a hot chick to chat with and b. i have room to be comfortable. i love vegas.

anyway, i sleep some, watch a little wedding crashers, and make it back to DFW. then, they tell us that we're going to have to wait for our gate. on top of that, the chick that was supposed to pick me up has left a message...

"hey, i don't feel well, and you're going to have to take a cab. i'm really sorry. call me as soon as you get this so i know you got it."

like i'm not going to [censored] know you're not coming when you're not here? WTF. i'm pretty pissed about this, and about the fact that we have to wait 30 mins on the runway before we can deboard....yep, it's back to [censored] reality.

i don't get the # from the chick b/c i'm half asleep and dumb, and b/c she lives in waco anyway. and then a lady behind me starts asking when i graduated from texas a&m and what not (i had a hat on). she starts telling me she knows people whose kids go there, and where she's from, and asks where i'm from.

we start talking about how big some northern dallas cities are getting, and the dude next to me in the isle starts chiming in about mckinney and other things. she ends up asking his name, and he's like blah blah blah, and i hear horton.

"zbthorton?" i ask

"yeah," he looks at me kinda surprised.

"i'm rageotones," i say, when i realize how completely dorky i sound. if i had any chance with the chick, it's ruined now.

anyway, it turns out that i was next to the good ol' ZBTHorton on the trip back to dallas. we chat for a few mins while getting our bags, shake hands, and he and his buddies take off.

i, however, start trying to figure out how to get a cab. i'm tired and pissed. i walk to where cabs are supposed to be, but this is DFW. it's not like NY or Vegas, and cabs aren't there all of the time.

i find a phone book, and start wondering how i'm going to make the call to the taxi place. i'm totally out of it, and it takes me about 3 minutes to realize i have my cell phone in my pocket.

anyway, i get a cab, and spend $51 getting home. luckily, i came home a winner, and wasn't completely pissed about it. that's what i get for trying to save $25 parking. i did get taco bell on the way home...oh how i missed thee.

so, all in all, i left the trip with $500 on me, and returned with $2140 after it was all said and done. i'd say it was successful. it was like all the bad luck i've had in vegas turned around for 1 good trip. i think i won at the bj table all but 1 time i played. maybe i just got good at blackjack...who knows.

well, that's my trip folks. i tried to give as much detail as possible so you could relive it with me, and i hope you enjoyed. i'm going back to vegas next month, but it'll probably be a while before i write something like this again.

viva las vegas!

i forgot that i took this picture at the airport b/c i got a kick out of it. it was annoyingly on a rotating thing, so i had to circle around with it to try and get a good picture...didn't work too well. it says always a happy ending.

i asked about hachem, b/c i'd heard that he didn't tip either. i'd never heard this, but she was saying that in australia, they're not supposed to tip like that after tournaments, so he didn't know he was supposed to. then, way later, he came back and tried to tip, but there was no way to get it to the dealers and what not. i'm not sure the validity of all of that, but interesting none the less.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is true, you're not supposed to tip dealers in cash games either.

anyway, awesome trip report

Apparently you didn't hear about what happened with CH2. The Feds came after the owner, all sorts of other crap happened, they lost their liquor license, had to close down, and was sold to new ownership. That's why it's not quite up to it's former glory.

so where's the place to go now? i went to SR last summer, but it didn't seem anything too special. then again, compared to CHII this time around, i guess SR is pretty nice.
