The bigger question is who did you like before? And will you like the Pats when the current regime ends? Brady and Bill will eventually be gone.

One of the biggest changes has been putting Rob Morris in. He is probably our least athletic linebacker but he does a much better job of wrapping up the ball carrier. I think it sends a good message to the rest of the defense when they put in the slow small white guy because he'll actually tackle. As I like to say, what he lacks in size he makes up in slowness. [/ QUOTE ] Just a random thought, if it were at all possible, shouldn't the colts try and go after Briggs from the Bears? Although I doubt they will have a chance since the Bears will franchise him. If he is free though, it would make sense, no? |

The Colts haven't been able to afford to keep their own homegrown LBs like Washington and Thornton, there is no way they are going to able to afford an expensive FA. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I guess your right. He's gonna leave the bears pretty soon, it would have been sweet for him to end up on the Colts. |

I think you just proved you know very little about the NFL. [/ QUOTE ] It just proves how badly I remembered the 1993 draft. It was Bledsoe over Rick Mirer -- I just had two amazingly bad quarterbacks confused. I remember that being considered a 'difficult decision' between the two quarterbacks by most pundits then, and it's pretty clear that (if it was even remotely a 50-50 coinflip at the time) that the Pats got by far the better end of that. |

The most intriguing part of this game that isn't talked about is the fact that this might be the Colts last shot at the SB. The CBA helped them out a whole lot this year, but their salary cap situation is looking grim this upcoming season. A huge hit is going to be Freeney, he will most likely be due 7.8 million next year at the DE position, it's either that or he's gone. McFarland is their 2nd round pick this year as well. I doubt that the players look into these situations, but Manning might be looking at a bad situation for the next few years and might not be back in an AFC Championship game. Don't believe me? Ask the Titans and Jaguars how worrying about today hurt them. [/ QUOTE ] Saying this is their last shot is overeacting a bit. They are going to let June go for sure. Freeny is their guy and they will pay him. On top of they, they will lose the salary of Doss, Reagor, and something has got to happen with Simon. Then it is most likely that Stokely and his large contract get cut. Add all this to the fact that the cap is increasing by 14 mil over the next two years, they will have plenty of money to do what they usually do. That is sign the high profile guys and reload in the draft. |

[/ QUOTE ] The Cardinals are my team..ughh but there are certain teams I will root for simply because I like them for whatever reasons Denver cuz i like Jake Plummer, Pats for reasons listed. Eagles cuz I was rooting for Jeff Garcia to get to the SuperBowl..etc etc. Once those things that I like are gone I stop giving a hsit about that given team. |

People said last year was their last shot because they would lose Edge.
The simple fact is that as long as the Colts still have Peyton Manning and Bill Polian they will be in contention. |

[/ QUOTE ] I will not be fooled by you Colts fans. I will continue to wish that each season is your last chance and that Manning will abruptly retire. Don't ruin my dreams. BTW, Del Rio picked the Colts to beat the Patriots. |

KB4Z and Kyro,
I've talked to Edge about it, and if you two are willing, how would you feel about a little friendly avatar bet between the four of us to last through the Pro Bowl. We'll take the Colts you guys get the Pats (Obv) straight up. You get the right to select/create the other guys' avatar and loc. Any thing I've forgot to cover, as this is my virgin run in Av betting? Cody |
