[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Jimmy has ended the session as chip leader with 2.6 million in chips after taking down another huge pot in the closing minutes of play. [/ QUOTE ] Source: http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/labels...0Millions.html So, knowing that, your first link may be the most accurate. |

[/ QUOTE ] Pokernews has seemed to be fairly accurate when their site isn't slow at responding. Pokerwire, on the other hand, has not been accurate for anyone who isn't either a big name or a Full Tilt qualifier. They're backed by Full Tilt so that makes some sense but I don't see why they failed to report accurately on gobbo for the majority of the tournament when he's clearly exploding on the poker world and is newsworthy. |

He'd limped from the cut off, and Marc Karam bet 200k pre-flop, which Jimmy called. The flop came 4c 7d Qc, and both players checked. The turn came 5d and Marc bet 350k provoking an all in call from Jimmy. Marc went into the tank, asked floor staff about the payout structure then folded
Wow, I hate live tournaments so much. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'm very upset with my play overall today. I made a lot of bad calls and plays and got very lucky. Shaniac, you played your hand very strangely and you got me, the calling station, to pay you off. Sorry it was you. They reported a TON of hands incorrectly. I think I'll play well tomorrow. We're playing down to 7 people from 14, so it'll be a short day. I'm doing an interview for FSN tomorrow after the play concludes. [/ QUOTE ] Best of luck, Jimmy. I'm obviously heartbroken, but it's business, not personal. However, I really wish you would refrain from saying "Yes! Ship it" and those types of things when you win a pot, especially when you suck out, since it is sort of hurtful to the person who lost the pot and doesn't mesh well with your character, either. Sorry for the flame (I kinda hope you don't even read this until after the tournament--ignore the hype and all, in any case), but I do mean best of luck--you're obviously in the zone, so stay in it. [/ QUOTE ] I kinda agree with that. All the kids who yelled when they sucked out in the PCA kinda pissed me off. I sucked out on 3 huge pots in the first day, went over to the guy I busted, shook his hand and that's it. Never said a word. Maybe it's a different in style, but I find it somehow more respectful. Either way, WHEEEEEEEEEE! LET'S WIN THIS! ONE (MORE) TIME DEALER! [/ QUOTE ] This actually kinda makes sense at PCA. Obv, I wasn't there, but a lot of the coverage mentioned how it was the first live play for a lot of peeps, who built their BRs kicking butt online, or satelliting their way in, etc. Assuming, arguendo, that that statement is true, a lot of that play was by one's self in private, where "SHIP IT!!!" goes unheard by others, and the player doesn't reflect any lack of tact, and more so than no one truly knows when they yell out various tilt profanities after going busto... Anyway, Gooooooooooooooo Gobbo! |
