I don't get all the hate for gold. Its like everyone had a predetermined opinion of him before the show. I thought he played pretty well all things considered.

Thought tonights episode was a good start anyway, suppose they had to show the one with Gold in it as they knew it would attract both poker players and casual observers alike.

Chen was a good character, Gold, though a dbag wasn't as much of one as I was expecting tonight, Sheiky got on my nerves as usual but the rest was good.

Gold is an even worse douchebag for not acting like himself when amongst great players. Just because reverence for more accomplished players quiets the douchebag in you doesn't maker you any better a human being. IMO, the guy is still a dick, through and through.

Nah, they need to get rid of Matasow. He's the one who is overplaying his part. Well, sheiky is too, but Matasow is just annoying. I was hoping after last season that he wouldn't be back after donking off 100K, but I guess that was too much to hope for. Sheiky at least has moments where he acts like a person, Matasow is on non-stop mouth and it's becoming pretty boring.

Yeah I don't like the dude, but thats ridiculous. If he acted 'like himself' you'd be complaining that he was being a douche. I didn't find him douche on HSP, I just found him very transparent at times.

I think he plays alright (maybe even well) against amateurs but can't cut it against real professionals.
