[ QUOTE ] It's not supposed to look like this? [/ QUOTE ] No, on a 2d Sodoku, you can't repeat the same number in any square as well as in any row or column. So I would assume that a 3d cube sodoku can not repeat the same number in any band that goes all the way around the cube. So clearly in your pic, there are more than one 1's in the top row, travelling all the way around the cube, thus it is unsolved. [/ QUOTE ] This can't be right b/c the 'band around' the cube contains 12 boxes not 9, thus can't be a restriction per sudoku rules. |

[ QUOTE ]
When I was in high school I picked the winner of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship 4 years in a row (out of the 64 teams) - knowing absolutely nothing about college basketball: Kansas ('88), Michigan ('89), UNLV ('90), and Duke ('91). [/ QUOTE ] BADass. |

Guy on Dallas was skating down the ice at the end of the game - about to score an easy empty-net goal....he missed (which is freakin' ridiculous for an NHL player in that situation) - Edmonton gets the puck back & with no time left on the clock, they score, tieing the game. If I'm not mistaken, Dallas did end up winning in OT - but I'm not 100% sure on that. |

crazy comebacks seem like a good addition to this thread, too. here's one:
down 41-17 with 3 minutes left i was looking for a comeback i saw a while back about a high school basketball game. one team was down by 18 with 1:30 left, forced OT, and won. i'll try to find it. this video isn't that improbable, but is ridiculous: sam mcguffie |

I probable posted this story before but it's a pretty good one.
I was in Budapest in mid october 2005 backpacking through Europe. Riding the subway from the main train station into the city I started talking to this american girl. Just normal chat, once we got to my stop said goodbye as we were staying at different hostels. 3 days later on my birthday I went to this bar/club/art museum downtown with some guys at the hostel. Im hanging out for a few minutes when I spot this girl talking to the guys I came with - apperently they went on an underground tour together. So that was cool, we chatted and all hung out together for the rest of the night and got wasted. About a week and a half later I was stuck in the Florence train station trying to get a ticket out of the godforsaken city when the same girl taps me on the shoulder and says hello. So that was really freaky, apparently she had been to rome for a week blah blah. Now this is really [censored] up. Almost 2 weeks later I'm coming out of a subway station in barcelona when I see this same girl walking down the street. Holy [censored], we ended up spending the rest of the day together and hooked up obviously. Same random meeting, 3 different times 3 different countries over a month. |

When I was 16 I used to work in this clothing store at the local mall. This girl who I worked with and I were chatting it up and I noticed she had a ring with the March birthstone on it (aquamarine?). I asked her what day she was born: 27th. Hey, me too. Come to find out we were both born on the same day, same year at the same hospital within 15 mintues of each other.
ps..never hooked up |
