The $660 tournament gives you 10,000 chips whereas the $340 gives you 6,000. 40 minute levels for each. Field will probably be 60-80 players.

I played on 12/28 and there were only 32. 4 got paid but 7 got on TV! A quiet week though, apparently (not that you could tell from the damn traffic...).

How was the level of play in this tournament? I will be playing in it next weekend, and it seems like with a thin field, long blinds and deep stacks a good tourney player should stand a much better than average chance.

The field was pretty tough when I played it, but I wouldn't like to say for sure that's normal. Aside from it being a midweek tournament in a a quiet week, their promotion of the holiday schedule was a disaster. I was trying to plan in advance but ultimatepokerchallenge.com and their advert in Poker Player both said different things, and I'm still not convinced either of them were the same as what actually took place! When it's back into the swing of a regular weekend schedule with a fuller field I'd expect it to be softer. GL to those giving it a go.
