Jaws has probably watched every single play Reggie Bush has been involved in, and he sees it from the right angle to tell how defenses react to him. You? How many times have you seen him play? Twice?

[/ QUOTE ]

This can't be emphasized enough. The standard TV shot misses so much, particularly down field coverage.

Presuming Jaws is talking about Bush's versatility and that the defense has to pay special attention to him every time he's on the field, then I can't see how you'd vote for him over Young, who you have to defend like few, if any, other quarterbacks in the game's history.

[/ QUOTE ]

He's not a superhero for [censored]'s sake, he's a running qb.

Right. I may have overdone it a bit there. But I think the point is still sound.

He replied that it was easily Reggie Bush because when watching the games you could see how much the game changed when he was on the field. Jaws basically said that even though the numbers don't show it, Bush had the most impact

[/ QUOTE ]

Kind of silly reasoning. Why should how observing some fuzzy thing like "how the game changed" be a measure for value? If you substituted a stiff for Brady/Manning/Brees, would you be able to see this change as well?

NO would have been nearly identical without him.

[/ QUOTE ]Unless you've watched all of their games and seen the way in which defenses respect the threat of Bush, I don't think you're qualified to say this.

I would be very interested in seeing how many TDs came after play fakes to Bush.

Which brings up another point. Jaws's NFL Matchup show (buried on ESPN at Sunday morning at 3am EST) is one of the few shows where they show the overhead view that teams actually use for game films (and the default view in the Madden video games). Is there any way for the typical sports fan to get those views?

And why don't the networks show that view? Inertia is one reason, but surely a lot of the target demographic is used to that view from football videogames.

No way. Networks or teams won't sell those tapes.

You do, however, forget his super powers. The inante ability to get inside of the mind of David Gerrard and force him into 2 picks for TD's - as well as forcing fumbles inside the 20 that are then returned for TD's. He just wins! (even when he throws for 80 yards and the team gets 3 first downs!)
