The answer is yes there are situations. They occur in multi-way pots when 1) you are first to act after the "someone" that is trying to put you all-in with others behind you yet to act. 2) When close to the money and you are last to act after "some" of the others have called the "someone" that can put you all-in.

If you are heads-up in a SNG, this is the case. Let's say that your hand wins 35% against his random hand. Your hand is +EV (your calling EV is higher than your folding EV) to call when you are short stacked, but slightly -EV to call with even stacks. Once your stack becomes large, this becomes an easy call.
The calling function is a parabolic surface, so it can go from +EV to -EV and back depending on your stack size. Doug

Fair enough. I was making an example up off the top of my head, and thought that would work. Like others have said, change AA to KK, and there you go. (Intuitively, thought QQ/JJ may have been a fold in #3, which is why I didn't use those hands in the first place.)
