What I find annoying about DN is this "good natured" thing. He is making jokes to see how his opponents react to it. That's not "good natured", that's some form of angle shooting, because he does it intentionally. He is not really a funny guy, he just wants to extract tells from you. [/ QUOTE ] And the problem with that as it pertains to poker is? |

DN is obviously an excellent player, probably not as good as his run in 2004 (I think) made him look, but he is a top notch player. He makes incredible reads, and a majority of the time when attempting to put a player on a hand he puts them nearly on the exact hand not just a range.
However, I admit at times he seems to lack class, or be demeaning to other players. I still like DN and just attribute it to all the pressures and demands on him. I mean the guy is probably 50% poker player and 50% businessman at this point. |

Anyone get the feeling that the more you see him on TV the more you start to dislike him ?? He used to be my favorite now I find myself rooting against him ... just to much talking and rambling it's become very annoying. [/ QUOTE ] Seconded. Thought he was interesting initially, but as he goes on and on and whines whenever something goes against him, and denigrates the player playing against him, it's just sad. (though his ranting at the High Stakes Poker season when he kept flopping the nuts and then losing on the draws was more than understandable.) |

[ QUOTE ]
The last 2 hands he keeps repeating some nonsense about coolers. Hand 1- DN has JdQd. Sexton has KQ. Flop K84 2 diamonds. they end up all in. Hand 2- DN has JQ. Sexton has AA. Flop T84. All-in again. How do these hands meet the definition of coolers????? [/ QUOTE ] You understand that they played heads-up for a ridiculous amount of time right? I can't be positive, but heads-up was several hours long. They showed a few hands of HU on the final TV cut, but that hardly tells the whole story. |
