In the CO I would sometimes raise with A3s only if the blinds are on the tight side. I never open limp in 6max.

Raise preflop...fold to reraise (if button reraises you). As played, you gotta bet the turn for ~$8 and pray to god that you get reraised and then puuuuuuuush hoping for a heart instead of a split.

[/ QUOTE ] good point, I have been alot becuz I am trying to get value, but with a hand like this underbetting is just stupid. Your line looks good. |

7-tabling shouldn't affect the amount of buy-ins you need...each table is independent of the other and if you can play solid on 7 tables, well then it doesn't matter. The reason we play more tables is to obviously get more hands in, which also DECREASES variance. [/ QUOTE ] Playing more tables generally decreases your win-rate which INCREASES variance. A person playing two tables at a time will need less buy-ins in their BR to risk going broke than the same person playing eight tables at a time. |

I really don't think winrate has anything to do with variance. Variance deals with Standard deviations (your ups and your downs). If you play like a suicidal maniac well then you need a huge bankroll. While the premise of multi-tabling is to increase overall winrate, but it shouldn't increase variance. You're not gonna spontaneously lose 7 buy-ins b/c you're playing 7 tables. The idea behind multi-tabling in my opinion, is to make the "short-term" longer.... sorry this is a total ramble, but multi-tabling doesn't have a huge effect on bankroll management unless the player can't handle playing that many tables. And if the player can't handle playing that many tables, well then they shouldn't be playing that many. |

well I think that 7-tabling reduces variance over the long run, suppose u have a ridiculous downswing while 7-tabling.
and u lose 7 buyins. Now suppose u r 2 tabling and u have a ridiculous downswing: u lose 2 buyins over the same time period u would have lost 7 buyins. Actually it's a bit more complicated thatn that because u could easily lose 7 buyins while 2 tabling if u run badly enough as well. I think the critical reason why I want to have more buy-ins when I am 7-tabling is not increased variance but rather the fact that any sort of serious tilt could be more dangerous when I have more tables open and less time to think about each decision. OF course if there is such a danger I shouldn't be 7-tabling in the first place. But I think it's a sort of complex question and I'm still not sure what the correct answer is. |

I agree with jonyy, sure you can lose win more, but I see it like this if I play 1 $50nl table there is a chance I will lose or win 1 buyin in an hour.
But instead I buy in at 4 tables at the same time so I buy in for $200, the chance that I will win or lose 4 buy ins in an hour isn't that big though. It is a bit like playing 1 table for 4 hours. And not like playing a 200nl game instead of 50nl. Just have 20 buyins ready for your stakes and you are good to go. |
