Default 3 handed, ever ok to limp fold from small blind?

in a game of good, (not overly tight) players playing 3 handed limit holdem...

is it ever correct to limp from sb then fold to raise from bb??

Don't know if it's "correct," but I'm sure I've done it. It depends on a lot of factors and many more details than you've given.

I'm not sure why you think the answer might be "no."

If you're playing straightforwardly, you complete with drawing hand or moderate-strength hand, and raise with weak and strong hands. In that case, if BB raises, and you treat it as straightforward, you call with your drawing hands and fold your moderate-strength hands.

So even if both players are playing straightforwardly, you could limp-fold. You might also do it if you limped deceptively with a complete bluff. Your plan was to limp, then bet on the flop, but after the preflop raise, you give up the attempt.

I can think of one clear cut example off the top of my head. Playing 15/30, you should never fold SB for one small bet but would definitely want to fold if it was raised.

Thinking this is a raise or fold situation seems to be a bit of a macho thing. I assume this is in a limit game. I got ridiculed by a fairly good player for doing this in a no limit game, where I think there are perhaps more situations where it's appropriate.

I'm sure it depends on the player in the BB. Off the top of my head, if they would never fold for a raise, but would only raise with their best hands, and otherwise play very passively on the flop, there have to be some hands that would be worth seeing the flop cheap, but you wouldn't want to call a raise from this player with. A naked king, perhaps.

I was talking about 15/30 limit and realize i wasn't too clear. in the SB for one small bet, the sb should 98% of the time not be folded. Exception would be if BB is raising a TON pf. I never said it was a raise or fold situation.
