The normal 2p2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] are too good for you? You need to find nice blue trim?

Also, sadly, Orlando Tragic Front Office > Joe D. Are you telling me Darko couldn't play 10 mpg at ALL???? Are you fooking kidding me??

I can honestly say I hate Mark Blount more than anyone in professional sports, so I found this to be hilarious (about Craig Smith):

[ QUOTE ]
Here's a guy who is shooting 55.1 percent, has a high rebound rate and a prolific rate of steals for a big man, and is second among all rookies in PER -- and the T-Wolves are limiting him to 19 minutes a game so Mark Blount can stay in the starting lineup? Seriously? It's not like there's a question of untapped potential here -- we know Blount is a stiff.

Darko not playing isn't the real tradegy. It's the fact you could have any of that draft class's studs besides Lebron and you don't.

I have discussed this numerous times with my friends. We seriously doubt if Bosh would have ever gotten off the bench under Larry Brown either. Carmelo, maybe 10 mpg his first year. We saw how Larry used LBJ, Melo, and Wade in Athens.

The real question, however, is this. Would they have whined and pouted a la Darko, or would they have sat back, bit their tongue, learned the ropes, and improved tremendously, ready to step in at any time, a la Philip Rivers (sorry for the sports x-post).

It's a link to the Iverson practice rant on You Tube.

Another point he brought up was that there's an abundance of second round undersized power forwards who are somehow outpeforming their first round counterparts. I looked at the last two drafts only, and here's my list:

craig smith, paul millsap, leon powe, ronny turiaf, ryan gomes, david lee (last pick of first round)

the thing that makes this more impressive is that the last two drafts are by far the weakest in living memory.

leon powe is a stretch, but as a celtics fan, i can attest that he's a big man who boxes out, something we haven't had since robert parish, so i am throwing him on there.

also....why has no NBA team given hollinger a job?? the guy is a basketball genius.

Last question before I'm out for the day.

Rank Andris Biedrins, Darko Milicic, Andrew Bogut and Andrea Bargnani not for how they play right now, but for a franchise.

(They are foreign, nothing to do with the fact that they are all white.)

GKA-

Those players would have been drafted in the first round 10 years ago. Now the first round is full of all these Euro prospects and youngsters. Honestly, all these draft picks are so speculative, its ridiculous.

Bogut, Darko/Biedrins, Bargnani. I haven't seen enough on the young Italian yet to make an informed decision. Darko just needs minutes. Bogut is going to be pretty good for a while, imo. Not great, but definitely serviceable. I think a good mix between Brad Miller and Divac.
