Was Superunknown really that far out there? Badmotorfinger is perfect album that fits this description: [ QUOTE ] listen to the whole thing straight through and think, man, that rocked! [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Go back further. -McGee |

OK, I'm not talking Radiohead or Flaming Lips or Tool or really any band that does anything really creative. I am talking about rock bands that for the most part just make great, relatively straightforward music that rocks. Bands that put out albums where you can just listen to the whole thing straight through and think, man, that rocked! Bands that put out albums just chock full of great songs that rock. I'll start. Foo Fighters. [/ QUOTE ] Why start a thread? This is the obvious answer. |

Boston put out three of the most stereophonic albums of all time, and then disappeared. [/ QUOTE ] Third Stage is a fantastic album and absolutely worthy of its place alongside Boston and Don't Look Back. On a personal note, it is also the first CD I ever bought (fall 1986). |

KJS, nath, and others:
The point is not that a bunch of bands you've listed don't rock or are not as good as those in the thread - I like many of them a lot more than most bands in this thread. But the question is pop-rock. |

killa: It's pretty crazy that nobody mentioned Jovi, wow. .38 Special also a decent choice.
