i heard from a very good source that a certain group of famous young pros has been recently staked in tourneys by a wealthy man who loves the game, and in the arrangement some of the less known players of the group are getting a very small percentage of what they win should they place in the money. it's been a lucrative arrangement for the backer.

Not really an internet superstar, but a well-known Canadian player nicknamed Shampoo (regular in high limits online, regular in the biggest games at Niagara [25-50 nl, 50-100 nl, 100-200 limit], 2004 Canadian Poker Championship winner) is rumoured to have gone BUSTO in the last month or so. Sources cite poor play in the 50-100 nl and house games (ie. craps and blackjack) as the source of his downfall.

Not really of broad reaching interest, but I figured the Toronto natives might find this one interesting.
