I honestly can't see how this won't be considered to be police brutality. Especially in California. [/ QUOTE ] Wadda ya mean? We have the most abusive cops in the nation here in California. "LAPD - To protect, to serve, and to shoot those we think need a shootin'". AB |

[ QUOTE ] Stop thinking that refusing to listen to authority (when they are right) makes you cool. [/ QUOTE ] highly doubt the kid was "trying to be cool". If you think I am defending the kid because I think "it's cool" to defy authority - you're way off. The main point is excessive force / police brutality --- I've had 2 semesters of CrimJ, and while this does not make me an expert by any means, I have had to study this subject. [/ QUOTE ] |

[ QUOTE ]
Lets say this kid with the Muslim sounding name was there conducting business online with Al Queda planning some huge attack in the Los Angelese area. Assume the cops didn't bother detaining him for questioning after he acted like a douche to the library staff when they asked for ID. They let him walk and non of this tasering happened. He detonates a suitcase nuke in the heart of LA and kills hundreds of thousands. We find out later after investigating that he was there at the library that day communicating the final plans online with Al Queda. Everybody would then blame the UCLA cops for not detaining and questioning this suspect. They would take the blame for the attack. Do you get it now why sometimes they have to do what they did? [/ QUOTE ]ban this retard [/ QUOTE ] Ban me for what? Actually using my brain and coming up with some decent rhetoric other than posting screenshots of Spaceballs and calling people retards? Grow up. [/ QUOTE ] Well... Nobody addressed my post about police states, perhaps because I have a tendency to rhetorically destroy mortals, or something, so... If you're livin' in a bubble and you haven't got a care Well, you're gonna be in trouble 'cause we're gonna steal your air 'Cause what you got is what we need and all we do is dirty deeds We're the Spaceballs! Watch out, 'cause we're the Spaceballs We're the masters of space Hey, don't mess around with the Spaceballs. Uh! Going cruisin' in a spaceship, we're so good at being bad We'll destroy your little planet if you ever get us mad We're mothers of the galaxy You better scatter when you see The Spaceballs! Watch out, we're the Spaceballs We're the masters of space Say what? Don't mess around with the Spaceballs. Watch out! We're mothers of the galaxy We're gonna take the air you breathe Hahahahahaha! Oh! Spaceballs! Watch out! We're the Spaceballs We're the masters of space Do-do-do-do-don't mess around with the Spaceballs. Yo! Watch out! We're the Spaceballs! We're the masters of space Hey, don't mess around with the Spaceballs. Watch out! We've got a bossin' little ship So you better watch your lip 'Cause we're the Spaceballs. Watch out! You may think that you are bad But believe you can be had By the Spaceballs! Watch out! We're the Spaceballs! Watch out! We're the Spaceballs! We're the masters of space Don't mess around with the Spaceballs. We're so bad and mean We make nightmares out of dreams We're the Spaceballs! We're the Spaceballs. You better watch out! look guys, theres a difference between:
1. "stand up, stand up!" x 50, then tasing him when he doesnt 2. "stand up or get tased" x 50, then tasing him when he doesnt. As for the guy using the "swing arms" example, this is completely unrelated. Its not like he turned the taser on and was like, here comes the taser! im closing my eyes! you better move!! no. he gave the student a perfectly REASONABLE and LEGITAMENT command to stand up. THAT IS ALL. Seriously, how can ANYONE try to extrapolate this to something like "facism", etc. its complete rediculous. Sure you might think that when the officer says "stand up or X", that "tasing" may be too extreme, and i can agree with that. However, GIVEN that the officer ALREAY SAID get up or be tased, he really hsa no choice but to follow through. And everyone who thinks tasing is sooooo terrible, grow a pair please. Wtf is happening to this country, we are becoming a bunch of pussies. Not only was the taser turn down in power, the kid had enough energy afterwards to talk [censored] about the patriot act, etc. give me a break. What if the cops had carried the kid out, and while they did, he started kicking and screaming and the cops dropped him and he broke his skull? then whose fault would it be? |

this kid got off easy. he would have been clubbed and maybe shot if he was black.
seriously though, the kid was a dumbfck. maybe the cops didn't handle it perfectly, but the kid had every opportunity to leave peacefully and he did not. follow the effing rules - not that hard. |

Hey this just in. I talked to someone who worked at the Powell Library (Where the incident took place) and she said that he had been a total idiot (not shown in the video) when the CSO (community something something the people that did the random ID check) asked him to leave he would not comply, instead, he started shouting out stuff like [CENSORED] all of you all you people can't do [censored] to me and you cant force me to leave etc etc. And once the police arrived he said "Oh [[censored]] i better leave now." First of all, this guy is a total loser (he has 9 friends on facebook) and a retard (for not complying with the law). Second of all, I hope he gets NOTHING from school because if he does it will be coming out of the UCLA students' pockets. Too bad the students are too retarded to realize that, and started to protest HUMAN RIGHT on campus this morning. *sigh*

[/ QUOTE ] Just follow the rules... interesting... Ever read Animal Farm? There used to be a rule that said that people could own other people, aren't we glad that got challenged? There used to be a rule that only landowneners could vote, aren't we glad that got challenged? There used to be a rule that put all japanese in interment camps, not inlike what the jews were put in in Nazi germany. Aren't we glad someone cahllenged that rule? My point here is to illustrate that this has a larger meaning and greater effect than people are giving it credit for. Just by reading some of your responses I was shocked. ( I can't believe I jsut mad that pun) Most of you think he deverved it. Did the people at Keene state deserve to die? EDIT: Omg I'm sorry, I didn't know he was a loser, please ignore my post. |
