Cops aren't supposed to deal out punishment because someone "deserve it". They are supposed to arrest people, who can then be put on triel, and their ponishment can be decided.

The knee to the throat seems to be a pretty stupid thing to do to keep someone at the ground, but i suppose that it is possible that it was the easiest way to keep him at the ground.

Going from holding his hands, to hitting him in the head seems mindnumbingly stupid. I fail to see how it can serve any other purpose than inflicting pain on the guy lying down. Actually it will propably make him resist even harder.

Has anyone ever successfully resisted being arrested, and maybe we just never hear about those incidents? It seems like resisting arrest is about as futile as attacking tanks on horseback. Much better would be to figure out some way to escape afterward, methinks. At least that's possible.

about 99.9% of police brutality videos I have seen, 1 thing they all have in common. When they try to put the cuffs on the badguy, THEY ALWAYS RESIST!

seriously, what is so difficult with letting the cops handcuff you? why do people not understand that when a man struggles to keep his hands from being handcuffed by a cop, he is not complying?? WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT??

Perhaps they know that a couple good shots, coupled with a talented lawyer, could get them six figures.

exactly what i was thinking, well actually i was thinking that if it were me getting the beat down... each time i got punched in the face, "sweet 10k, another 10k, another 10k, dude maybe i can settle for like 100k..."

Resisting arrest? Nope. But I'm like 6-0 from getting away from them on foot after they've told me to stop.

Once I was handcuffed and forced to sit down while they were searching my buddy's house and he was bound as well. Once it was decided he was going to jail, he asked if he could have a quick smoke. THEY'RE DUMB ENOUGH TO TAKE HIS CUFFS OFF. He pushed the nearest cop down and ran out the front door and got away.

Me and his lil bro who was also handcuffed on the couch started laughing our asses off in shock, and instead of trying to chase him down (there were only two cops left at the scene) they just yelled at us for 30 minutes and threatened to take us to jail.

first thing I thought of.

Cops shouldn't be punching the guy when he's down like that, even if he is an ass.

It looks excessive, but I'm sure he deserved it.

Can't tell definitively one way or the other without knowing context. But jacking that dude in the head, while satisfying, was probably unnecessary.

[/ QUOTE ]

so you are sure that he deserved it but you don't know definitely?

and no, he didn't deserve it, regardless of what he did.

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't be a nit. "I'm sure he deserved it" is a figure of speech and is used loosely.

If you say "man, that lady there looks like a bitch" and somebody goes "yeah I'm sure she is," do you sit there and quarrel with the person because s/he doesn't know with 100% accuracy what the lady's personality is like?

I enjoyed it.

Exactly how long are they suppose to sit there and struggle with this guy? Gimme a break.

Does it look bad? Yes.

Do I feel an ounce of sympathy? Nope.

They don't even show the whole video. All they only show the 20 seconds where the cop is beating the dude. It was probably another Rodney King wannabe who deserved it. He was probably being a f-in smartass and resisting arrest and he got what he deserved. I have no sympathy at all for these people. We give the cops the power, so let them do there jobs.
