[ QUOTE ]
I hope you guys realize that the villians wrists were right next to each other. Instead of cuffing him right then and there the cop decided to punch him in the face. I dunno about you guys but I really don't see how that's defendable. [/ QUOTE ] They weren't going to cuff his hands in front. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] What we see there doesn't look good. I would really like to see the rest of the video. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I'd like to see what happened before two police were trying to get this person under control. [/ QUOTE ] I hope you guys realize that the villians wrists were right next to each other. Instead of cuffing him right then and there the cop decided to punch him in the face. I dunno about you guys but I really don't see how that's defendable. [/ QUOTE ] What if he kicked one of the cops in the nuts real hard right before they knocked him down? I would like to say that there might be a lot more context to the situation that might have led the cops to do this OTHER than resisting arrest (like him beating a little kid in the face or something) but the report says that all they charged him with was resisting arrest so... |

The man is pinned down and he has a knee in his neck. Put the handcuffs on till he calms down and give him a 1/2" more room to breath. |

We're not seeing the whole video. As was mentioned in the article
[ QUOTE ] The tape was photographed by an unnamed neighbor who gave it to B. Kwaku Duren, a lawyer who represents Cardenas. [/ QUOTE ] So, I'm willing to bet that just this segment of the video was released because it only contains a scene that would be damaging to the cops and make his client look good. Edited to add: Another part of the article talks about why this happened [ QUOTE ] The incident began when the officers spotted Cardenas, a Gordon Street gang member wanted on a felony warrant for stolen goods, and he fled, police said. During the subsequent arrest, a struggle ensued and the officers reported that they used force to subdue the suspect. [/ QUOTE ] So, gang member wanted on a felony flees police. |

It looks excessive, but I'm sure he deserved it.
Can't tell definitively one way or the other without knowing context. But jacking that dude in the head, while satisfying, was probably unnecessary. |

There's zero reason for a cop to ever do this, I don't care what happened before. It's not making the guy any easier to deal withk, quite the opposite.

It doesn't matter how you get the handcuffs on, as long as you do to restrict his movement. You can always fix the cuffs later. However, as I said before, there are easy ways to get the guy on his stomach. With 2 officers, they should have been able to do it easily even if the guy was fighting. |

[ QUOTE ]
about 99.9% of police brutality videos I have seen, 1 thing they all have in common. When they try to put the cuffs on the badguy, THEY ALWAYS RESIST! seriously, what is so difficult with letting the cops handcuff you? why do people not understand that when a man struggles to keep his hands from being handcuffed by a cop, he is not complying?? WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT?? [/ QUOTE ] Perhaps they know that a couple good shots, coupled with a talented lawyer, could get them six figures. |

[/ QUOTE ] so you are sure that he deserved it but you don't know definitely? and no, he didn't deserve it, regardless of what he did. |
