I've tried to draw some kind of line in the sand in terms of what is acceptable which obviously will not please everyone (or anyone) and some stuff is borderline like 'wassup nigga' etc. because it has become mainstream. I'm not going to get in argument about how this isn't fair because it's never going to be perfectly fair and just. I'm also not going to get into a philosophical discourse or cultural studies thesis on what or why nigga has become mainstream and acceptable in our culture whereas 'nig*er', sp*c' and 'k*ke' are still highly offensive. I'm doing my best to keep the purely hateful crap out and try and keep the funny or distasteful but not-hateful stuff (like wassup nigga or 'nigga plz') in. If I err on the side of caution by still including some stuff that is mildly offensive like 'nigga plz' then that's just the way it is. That's the best I can do and if you don't agree with it, then sorry but too bad.

Does this really need to be explained? And on that note, what's up with "paddy wagon" and nobody realizing that is a racial slur?

That so many of you seem to think this is an entirely new thing makes me very confident that something did need to be done here. Even if gildwulf had never been made green, I probably would have been deleting more posts, giving more warnings, and banning people more often for breaking general site rules anyway. And I most likely wouldn't have posted a new sticky to warn the whole forum before doing any of those things. I've suspended and banned several BBV regulars for making racist comments over the past few months, and none of them seem shocked that their posts weren't appreciated. As I said before, this really isn't a new rule. [/ QUOTE ] well, thats really the whole point of BBV. you post stuff here that you know wouldnt fly elsewhere. everyone knows the forum rules well enough, but "pushing the envelope" might as well be in the BBV forum description. im one of the lucky ones that has managed to score a one-week suspension for being "racist". i knew my posts would probably not go over well with the mods (i didnt know it would go over that badly either, though). i posted them anyway. because i really hate black people? because it was funny in the context of that thread. funny > pc. that all being said though, its not like the people here wish gildwulf/ryan to formally retract that sticky... the cats out of the bag and if you were to try to take it back, it would probably spur some really over-the-line stuff. but i guess it serves as much as a reminder to the mods of what bbv wants to be about as it is a reminder to bbv of what the rules are.
