Default High limit hold\'em in Chicago?

I'm going to be in Chicago right before Thanksgiving and someone was telling me that they are getting off high limit hold'em now at one of the public card rooms up to $100-$200.

Can anyone confirm this? Also, where exactly is it?

Lastly, are these games good? No offense, but I never heard of any really good limit hold'em players coming out of chi-town.

I have no knowledge of this specific game going, but typically, the big LIMIT games are at Resorts (formerly Harrahs). $20-40 being the typical regular big game, but I've definitely seen $30-60 and I think $50-100 spread before.

The poker room # is (219) 378-3558 - I'm sure the manager can fill you in.

Thanks CMP. I just called and they said they had $100-$200 and $50-$100 going yesterday. I always thought Chicago was low limit, but I guess I'll be able to combine my visit with friends with some poker. Do you know if the games (the bigger ones), are any good?

these games seem to go fairly often now, but usually short-handed and i'm not sure of the staying power of the games (meaning after a fish busts out, the game may end). they seem to run with mostly regulars with a few others jumping in once in a while. I'd say the game averages 4-5 handed...sometimes more, sometimes less. I hear there can be some sick swings in that game as well. It looks to be fairly aggressive (as one would expect), but I would also guess that it might be softer than your average short-handed middle/high-limit game in AC or Vegas (this is my extrapolation and there are others who might agree)

Then again, these are just observations as I don't play these games and i suck at limit poker. I'm usually at an adjacent table playing NL.

Please give a trip report, as I'll be in Chicago around New Years, freezing my arse off.

After your trip, post a trip report.

wow. I live in chicago and have been there 3 times in the past 6 months. I guess i need to spend some more time there. I basically quit playing locally for a while because all of the NL games played so shallow and i can do better playing 3 or 4 5-10 NL games onlnie
