Villain is pretty much unknown but I assume he's a TAG or LAG because of his screen-name. I am running horrible (again), and when he C/R the flop I think, "okay he probably has a K, but I'm calling anyways".. The turn card comes and then I see that I have a strong draw, but I completely disregard that my hand can probably see a showdown whether I hit or not.. I miss the river and fold - It's like all I see is the missed draw, and completely forget that I can show down my hand for 1 more bet.
UTG raises, I 3bet with JJ, everybody folds and UTG calls. flop: KT9r UTG checks, I bet, he raises and I call. turn: 8(completing the rainbow) bet, call. river: K bet, fold. Tilt fold? When I was reviewing the session I saw this hand and thought to myself, "WTF, he could have had AT or AJ". |

If he is a passive player, I think you can reasonably put him on a K there. Of course, since you have position, you're probably getting enough pot+implied odds to call the raise and try to draw the gutshot. Then, I think you can reasonably fold the turn.
Against an aggressive player, you can call down. If you call the turn, you must call the river. |

If you were in a blind war then this would be an auto-calldown for me. Since this is an UTG raise that you 3-bet it's a bit closer when he check raises and you should probably try to figure out how he sees you. If he sees you as a folder then I would probably call down since you you saw the river anyway. If not I will fold/call depending on how aggressive they are. For some, a T will easily make up 1/8 of their range, but others will have at least QQ, a K, or better more often than that IMO. Also if the opponent is reading hands at all he will realize that board connects pretty hard with most of your 3-betting range, so you would expect that betting the river will be pretty scary for QT, JT, AT.
Question for the forum - if villain does have AJ, QT, JT or AT, did he play the hand well? |

The flop and turn calls are fine. I agree with Leader and Sharpie that you can call again on the river. Just don't expect to win.

I don't even know why I posted this. It should be an easy call, I'm just [censored] horrible and can't beat this game. I think posts like this and the fact that my screen-name is very similar to my 2p2 name, are just making things worse for me.

Focus on getting better. There aren't currently enough TAGs playing in the games you're playing, much less enough TAGs that are paying attention to this forum, to make that much of a difference. Focus on accomplishing positive, constructive, concrete goals. External events are things you just have to deal with. You focus on the things you can control. |

Did you post this immediately after the hand happened?
The river K makes me happy because if there are two on board, its impossible for him to have the third K and I know I'm best. Raise/cap. |
