Maybe you Euros can help me out with this: over the summer I bought FIFA 2006 World Cup for my 360 and played it until I could regularly destroy the AI on any difficulty level. Now that I'm back on Live, I just played about 6 games online (I imagine most of them were against you Euros given the current time) and for the most part I got owned. Everyone seemed to be really good at playing through balls past my defense, whereas mine would consistently get stopped by their defense. Plus, one [censored] (who was using England, BIG SURPRISE) didn't know how to play real soccer and would just hit these gay ass chip shots over my goalie.

One possible problem was that everyone was using top 8 teams (Italy, Argentina, Spain, England) whereas I was using Cameroon (Eto'o) and Ukraine (Shevchenko). Problem is, they aren't very useful if I can't actually get them the ball with room to run. I only won two games; one of them was 0-0 until my opponent scored a stupid own goal in the 89th minute, and the other one my opponent quit at halftime when I was up 4-0. I lost the others 3-2, 5-1, 3-0, don't remember other scores.

HELP ME EURO SOCCER FANS!

i dont like FIFA much, more of a pro evo/winning 11 player. I'm above average/mediocre vs V good players and let me tell you I use to spend AGES sorting out formations, in game tactics etc etc. Hell I went a month practicing freekicks for 4hrs a week, and I didn't even own a ps2/xbox. Find out what kinda system you are best with, then pick the team thats most suited.

for the FIFA XBOX 360 OP.

the "gay" lob shots over your goalies head are something you need to learn.

if you dont have this shot in your repetoire, I would be willing to spot you 5-6 goals per game.

ZOMG Party is going nuts today. It's like a weekend evening. People check-raising my cbets all the time and jamming with air. It's so [censored] high variance. I'm -$700 with flopped sets in the last two days

...so the fact that the gay lobber only beat me by two goals is a good sign?

I hate playing in a gay, exploiting, unrealistic manner. I'm American and I can tell that isn't soccer. I hate playing games that aren't about strategy but rather who is best at exploiting the game's loopholes.

goofy,

i totally agree. in fact, when i play against another good player that has also learned to use the chip shot effectively, we will sometimes play a game where that is not allowed.

As far as being a good sign, maybe he sucked at the rest of the game. But, if you have that shot and your opponent doesn't it should typicall be a route (in soccer terms). The "six goals" was just me waving around my e-schlong.
