How Frequently Are you Called Names at Table?

Hi,
I just plaied another STT (109) and the guy called me a [censored] at the end, probably because I pushed the last 5 hands of the heads up part, and he won by hitting his flush with preflop allin A8o versus his A2s.
So, just wondering how frequently other players call you names at the tables, and if it's something I should be proud of?

If you aren't getting called a fish (or worse) at least a couple times a day, you aren't playing optimally.

there is some wry satisfaction in pushing your SB Q7o that you know is +EV and getting called by BB's AA. the chat that follows those situation really makes me smile.

i remember watching an interview with Coach K where he said that every time someone called him a loser or an [insert expletive], he had to smile and say thank you. this is kinda like that.

I'll propose that there are three kinds of angry people out there:

1. Pompous table coaches. These are the best. They are whiny and funny without trying to be. You should get at least two or three a month -- and it's OK to have some fun with them as they explain the "right" way to play. Just keep stacking their chips.

2. Sore losers. They bust out and want to kick a chair on the way out. At least one a week. It's tempting to taunt them back, but it's +EV to ignore them or calmly encourage them to try again.

3. Truly sick souls. About once a quarter, I wonder if some ultra-nasty inmate is playing on the prison computer. It's best just to disable chat -- there's nothing good that can come from responding to these folks.

Somebody once called me a DOBKEY for pushing ATo 3 handed into his AK with blinds at about 10 billion - 20 billion. I asked if he was Hellmuth, but he said no [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
