OMFG. What is this video they're playing on ESPN2?

I love these fgts that say they're huge Red Sox fans, but say they only became fans when they met Millar.

Agreed, which I think surprised a lot of people considering what a great season the Cards had last year.

We'll see if this year the playoffs can keep up the trend of superb LCS's followed by a very meh World Series.

I love how you can be from:

Maine
Massachusetts
Rhode Island
Vermont
New Hampshire
Connecticut

and be a "Sox fan," but if you're not from within 10 minutes of Yankee Stadium you get flamed for rooting for the Yankees.

Great post.

It is an indication of how well a starting pitcher pitches in his starts with the run support he is given until he is removed from the game.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because that is not indicative of his true value. Run support is out of the pitcher's control for the most part, and thus it would be idiotic to judge a pitcher based on things he has no control over.

ERA is more indicative of value. To go farther, Strikeout rate, Walk rate, and homerun rate are the most indicative of value, as they are the things pitchers have the most control over.

[/ QUOTE ]

HR rate isn't that important. WHIP is easily the most important, than ERA, and K/9 is a close third.

Maybe you could actually make for an interesting playoff series

[/ QUOTE ]

Did you watch the playoffs last year, we were a couple hits away from beating you.

"Will the Twins be the best team in the American League during the regular season? Probably not, judging by wins. The Yankees, Red Sox and Angels likely will have more wins at the end of September. But had Joe Mauer been catching last October, they would have beaten the Yankees." Peter Gammons

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought it was a good playoff series. There were a few beads of sweat. But come on, we all knew how it was gonna end... And I don't care if Jesus Himself was catching for the Twins, you're not getting past the Yanks.

No, K/9 is more important. WHIP is still heavily influenced by defense.

Yankees place Kevin Brown on the DL.

Not again...

[/ QUOTE ]they should cut him, he pissed me off last year.

[/ QUOTE ]

He should be ran out of New York and a law should be passed never allowing him to return...
