After a while of casino whoring and a ton of downloads my computer has started to lag. How do I go about solving this problem? I want to uninstall and completely wipe out all the software I do not want on my Dell. Will this speed my computer up again as well?
Thanks in advance |

Hi,
first of all, I am not American nor English. So maybe the things are named different. I hope you will find them anyway. I further assume you are using WindowsXP. First press Start -> System Control -> (in newly opened window you will see lots of entries for Fax, Sound, Internet options) Software -> (a new window with a list of all installed programs shows now) click on the item you want to uninstall and search for the delete button I am not sure if it will make you PC faster. But at least you will have more storage on your HD (Planet Luck or Starluck took a 200 MB each on my HD). Are you using defrag software on a regular basis? This is another thing that will speed up your PC. And you should search for a Registry Cleaner. Keep the farts alive firefarter |

I'm assuming that you have some form of antivirus software and a firewall. If not, you should get them. There are free versions of both, or you can spend $20 a year and get ZoneAlarm Antivirus , which has a free trial period. I've used that myself for two years.
You might also want to download the free version of AdAware and also Spybot Search and Destroy . It doesn't hurt to clear your temporary internet files (cache) In MS Internet Explorer (browser), that's found under: Tools/Internet Options/General tab/Delete Files. And as suggested, you can uninstall all of the poker and casino software that you don't want. When done, you should use Disk Defragmentor, which you can find under Start/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmentor. |
