Of the last fourteen times I have opened an account with an online poker site and played limit holdem, twelve times I have killed the competition (three to five big bets per hour) for about two days. Then after a few days I start losing and I'm unable to ever win there again. The two times I didn't succeed from the start the site was identical to one I already played at except for the colors. I don't understand how I can make three to five big bets per hour for a few days and then never win again. I mix up my play pretty good (not that anybody is noticing at the low limits). Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

"Mixing up your game" is a defense for AFTER players have you figured out. No worries about this in lower stakes. Play straight forward, ABC poker. I guarantee it will "de-rig" all your poker sites. |

After reading this thread a 100 times and experiencing it myself to a certain degree, I've come to the conclusion that the main reason is HUD's, pokertracker etc. The other reason is variance. While its possible a site could juice up the cards for new deposits, it makes no sense for them to turn around and make it so you can't win.
In short, it sux to come off a cooler esp. when your competition is beginning to get a line on your play. |

Odd how you never see people saying - I lost 20 times in a row and now I can;t stop winning.
It is not some grand scheme. It does NOT happen to everybody. When I street light goes out when you walk under it do you also think it is you? It's is how you play and winning streaks breed losing streaks. |

Thanks in advance. [/ QUOTE ] I have noticed the same thing, ESPECIALLY on Party. It is attributable to one of two things, I think: 1) The randomizing algorithm is "fixed" so that new players receive an abnormal quantity of excellent cards for a short period, to "boost them up" and make them want to stay. or 2) When first joining a site, you are an "unknown" with no reads, thus getting more respect for raises. After you've played long enough, you profile is datamined, and people play against you accordingly. AB |
