So tiltaholic has persuaded me to take a 50BB shot at 10/20 (well, he wanted 100BB, but I didn't want to blow 1/4 of my roll). Should be interesting. My plan for moving up is always this:

1) run hot
2) hit minor downswing
3) run about breakeven
4) lose until you're about even
5) start winning and never look back

I am currently on step 3.

nice plan and best of luck, skip step4 would be my advice

I missed step1 on my 5/10 shot but a beatdown of 3/6 lately has boosted the confidence for another more sustained effort

also I hope Wookie lets me hijack that huge 1/2pot thread, as my personal LC thread, with title and everything

I seriously have done this every time I've moved up...from .5/1 all the way to 10/20 now. Ridiculous.

Been meaning to post this one for a while...

Party Poker (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
3 folds, Hero calls, 3 folds, SB raises, BB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets,BB calls,Hero raises, SB calls, BB calls.

Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB calls.

River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, BB folds, Hero calls.

Results below: SB has Kh Ks (four of a kind, kings).
Hero has Qd Td (flush, king high).

What's amazing about this hand is not that I lost to quads. It's that this was when I was playing the 2/4 bad beat jackpot tables and the jackpot was 60k. If that 8d had been the 9d or Ad I'd have been 15k richer.

I am at 1) at 3/6. I never came to 5) at 1/2 but figured what the hell.

This is completely NC. I was playing 2/4 at SportingBet and when it gets headsup theres no raise cap (kind of like the Cryptos i believe). Anyways its folded around to me in the CO with AA. I raise and only the BB stays and he reraises. Basically we raise and reraise till each of us has like almost 40 in the pot preflop. Finally I just called because the table was complaining and I figured we both had AA.

So the flop comes all blanks. I bet and he raises and we raise each other about 5 times until he finally calls.

Turn is a K. This scares me because I figure he has either AA or KK. I check, he bets, I call. River is a blank with same action as turn. He flips over KK and takes down a 35 BB headsup pot.

I was disgusted to say the least. Then I get cold decked the last hour and 15 minutes I played, end up busting out on a couple more bad beats and leave.

Some nights I hate poker.

I think that's assumed, posting in the NC thread and all

Nothing like KK hitting the two outer on the turn. That needs to happen to me more often.
