I'm tired of debating with a moron, who's only method of debate is to change the argument or purposefully misconstrue the clear meaning of everyone else's words to try and show why he isn't wrong.

The 50K buyin event is a one-off and isolated event. You said I should enter IT. You didn't say I should enter 100 events like it. I am playing in 100 other events like it, just not IT. If I fail to cash in these 100 other big buy-in events, then that does mean something. If I win 20 of them, that means something. Results in-between these extremes will also provide some guidance as to my skill level.

But, entering that single 50K buyin event will prove nothing about my game, to me or to anybody in the world with half a brain. Right now I'm pegging you at about 10%, so when you get the other 40% of your brain back, and make a post using it, I will reply. Until then, I'm done.

Did you even notice that pretty much everybody disagrees with you? That is a sure sign that you are almost certainly wrong. There is the occasional genius who sees beyond all others, and is right when the rest of the world is wrong. However, for every 10,000 people who think they're that genius, 9,999 of them are just stubborn morons.

You can assume you're the 1 in 10,000, but I'll play the odds.

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

My understanding is certainly not flawed.

Both of these statements are incorrect.

Anyone who says that is limiting themselves, the way the Greg Raymer, WSOP Champion, is limiting himself. I pity him and anyone that turns down a situation to feel satisfaction because it may not be +EV. The very best love to play with the very best. Enjoy the challenge as much as the money made.

Well, when it's your money, you can decide how to spend it.

Maybe not for one tournament at a time

[/ QUOTE ]
Umm..I think that pretty much proves Greg's point.

[ QUOTE ]
if you are a better player, you will win more than a bad player

[/ QUOTE ]
Unless you are entering tournaments and games which are above your means, with a $10M bankroll a 50K tournament might not be a big deal, but you have no idea what kind of bankroll Greg has.

[ QUOTE ]
If you consistently view each tournament as a one off, you wont see the big picture.

[/ QUOTE ]
Funny, every 10K tournament that I have attended in the last year or so has had Greg playing, obviously he is not viewing EACH tournament as a one-off.

[ QUOTE ]
For some reason you think that winning the WSOP means that you know what you are talking about.

[/ QUOTE ]
Beating 2500 players over 8 days means something, its not like winning a smallish two day tournament. Greg said that he has entered the WSOP ME several times previous, this is not a Moneymaker situation.

[ QUOTE ]
And the idea that poker is completely different from other sports/games with regard to luck is wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]
Lets assume for a second that Phil Ivey is the best poker player in the world and that Tiger Woods is the best golfer. At the absoulte peak of both their games, Woods destroys the competition with regularity, Ivey certainly does not, this is due to luck. If you have a single table sit and go with Ivey and nine random players, he might win 4 out of 10. Woods in the same situation against nine random golfers would almost assuredly beat all nine other players every time.

Some people just like to get well known players mad at them. It makes them feel important.

True, but there must be something more. What motivates posts like leonardo's? Perhaps this is better asked in the psychology forum.
