For those that understand what the law is on this, statements like that ring 100% hollow. There is no, and I repeat no, legal concern surrounding commentary on pending legislation. This is a practice fully protected for individuals (and to a large extent corproations) by the first amendment. Thousands of companies, individuals, and trade associations launch advocacy campaigns on pending legislation every year. In other words, no, there is no possible way advocacy on legislation would cause legal problems. |
